2/10 Terrible

"No USB ports in the room so it’s a nightmare to charge your phones or laptops if you don’t have a power adapter. Very tiny rooms. You are warned! Location was great with a grocery store on the ground floor. 7-10 minutes walk to the old town. Front desk was friendly and one guy from New York was super helpful! Thank you!"

"TLDR: a comfortable hotel with a great gym and a few minor annoyances. Inconsistent shower temperature, shower flooding, and TVs with no ability to stream or cast. The hotel has an exorbitant credit card hold off €50 per night. The Hilton Heidelberg has comfortable beds, quality linens, and black out curtains. It makes for a fairly comfortable sleep. The room still has the archaic power key required for the room. This would be fine if the card wasn't lifted up when room cleaning takes place, as this turns the fridge off (thankfully my things survived, but the fridge shouldn't be on that control). The shower was a mixed bag. It has two shower head options with ok pressure. Regularly, the shower will have temperature changes for a split second before returning to normal. The glass screen is also too short and the silicone strip used to prevent flooding onto the bathroom floor is a poor solution. The TV is a large and modern LG flat screen. This would be excellent except that in true Hilton form, all streaming and casting is blocked. I asked about this and the receptionist told me that they are not smart TVs. (The "apps" and "smart" button on the TV remote say otherwise). I was advised of only 3 English language channels on the TV. It is absurd that in 2026, a 5 star international hotel chain cannot allow guests to cast their devices to the TV. One free water is provided to the rooms each day. "Vine a Heidelberg por la graduación de mi hija y me alojé por 4 dias en el hotel. Desde el primer momento, fui recibida con mucha cordialidad y gentileza. Tuvimos el apoyo de Ivonne, en la recepción, quien nos atendió con mucha amabilidad. Al día siguiente, el día de la graduación, no había previsto hacer una reunión para celebrar, pero recibimos la vista de varios amigos y, el hotel, a pesar de que estaba reservada para una fiesta privada, nos permitió quedarnos en la hermosa terraza junto al río para brindar por el logro de mi hija. Nos atendió Anastassia, quien nos sorprendió por hablar perfecto español y nos brindó el mejor el servicio posible. La cena fue increíble. Me sentí como en casa, con confianza y relajada. El hotel me encantó!!"

"After considering a few well rated modern hotel chains I decided to plump for this wonderful period hotel located besides the wonderful Mannheim water tower The prices for a solo traveller were incredibly reasonable, staff were great and really nothing to fault. There’s something about a historic property that newer places can’t emulate."
