It was a very nice stay. The beds were good and it was quiet. The bathroom is a bit old fashioned but we loved it. We even had a bath. We came very late in the evening and the receptionist was very friendly. It is better to call the hotel directly than to book with Expedia. We didn’t have the breakfast. We went to a nice bakery.

Das Personal ist sehr nett und freundlich, wenngleich auch schlecht und unpassend gekleidet. Das frisch bezogene Bett und das Bad waren ok. Das Problem ist das Gebäude selbst. Runtergekommen, verdreckt und völlig am Ende. Ein Autoschrottplatz direkt vor der Türe. Man sollte es einfach abreißen.

Erster Eindruck: günstige Lage nahe Hbf. 70er Jahre Beton-Charme - na ja. Empfang sehr freundlich. Langsamer Aufzug. Ich hatte ein Business-Zimmer. Sauber. Gut ausgestattet mit Tisch, Schreibtisch, geräuschlosem Kühlschrank. Schreibtisch und Bedezimmertür müssten mal lackiert werden. Balkon mit toller Aussicht. Frühstück (6:00 bis 10:00!) für den Preis ok.

Wir haben für eine Nacht ein Superior Doppelzimmer im Excelsior gebucht. Schon von außen ist erkennbar, dass das Hotel in die Jahre gekommen ist. Leider setzt sich dieser Eindruck im Inneren fort. Von „Superior“ kann hier keine Rede sein: Die Sauberkeit im Zimmer war inakzeptabel und ließ stark zu wünschen übrig. Auf den ersten Blick wirkte vieles ungepflegt, bei genauerem Hinsehen war die Hygiene schlicht nicht gegeben. Worte dafür zu finden, fällt schwer. Für den verlangten Preis und die angepriesene Kategorie ist das absolut enttäuschend.

Das Hotel selber betitelt sich auf der Homepage wie folgt, Zitat: >Einzigartiger Hotelkomfort in bester City-Lage in Ludwigshafen.< Das ist ein ganz schlechter Scherz! An Wänden und Türen des von mir genutzten Hotelzimmers befanden sich undefinierbare Flecken, der Schreibtisch war verkratzt , Lichtquellen waren….. da. Aber es machte keinen Unterschied ob an oder aus. Keine Klimaanlage . Aber ein Ventilator war da! Der Fön im Bad war … da. Mit langen Haaren braucht es viel Zeit, weil der Fön nicht wirklich fönt und es Pausen braucht wegen Überhitzung. Licht im Bad…. Eine Kerze wäre heller gewesen. Der Schlauch der Dusche - kaputt. Die Zimmertüren vermitteln keinerlei Sicherheit. Da hilft auch die Türkette nicht! Das Frühstück habe ich gewusst nicht in Anspruch genommen. Ich wollte mich nicht selbst bestrafen. Teppiche auf den Gängen der einzelnen Etagen sind voll mit Flecken. Und die Aufzüge sind alt, langsam und bleiben gelegentlich stecken. 17. Etage , Skylounge, geschlossen! Wird aber auf der Homepage sehr hervorgehoben. ????? Zitat: > Im 17. Stockwerk erwartet Gäste ein eindrucksvoller 360°-Panoramablick über die Stadt Ludwigshafen und das Rhein-Neckar-Tal. < Konnte ich nicht bestätigen. Ich werde definitiv NICHT wiederkommen.

Wir sind mit 6 Personen angereist als wir vor der Tür mit den Worten "sie wollen jetzt aber nicht alle einchecken", begrüßt wurden. Es sei gerade erst ein Bus eingetroffen und man wolle mal eine Rauchen. Der gesamte äußere und innere Eindruck war unschön und herunter gekommen. Weder beim Checkin noch Checkout wurden wir nach einem Ausweis gefragt. Die Schlüssel werden "einfach so" an der Rezeption ausgeteilt, wenn man nach der Zimmernummer fragt, ohne nach dem Ausweis zu fragen. Die Aufzüge sind eine Katastrophe: unsicher, lange Wartezeit (bis zu 10min) und teilweise stecken gebliebenen. Die Zimmertüren sind alles andere als sicher und ich habe mich nachts als Frau dort nicht sicher gefühlt. Das Vordach meines Zimmer war übersäht von Müll: Unterhose, Zigaretten, Obstschalen, Verpackungen etc. Ich war sehr froh, dass ich nur zwei Nächte dort. berbringen musste

Preis-Leistung ist m.E. sehr gut - wenn man selbst Abstriche machen kann und nicht auf jedes Staubkorn achtet, ist das hier absolut in Ordnung. Wir würden sogar gefragt, in welcher Etage wir sein wollen. Und sofern man nicht das Standard-Zimmer nimmt, ist sie Einrichtung auch modern. Wer ein günstiges schickes Zimmer will und dabei keinen 5-Sterne Luxus erwartet, kann hier einchecken 👍

Nie wieder!

Dieses Hotel ist nicht nur in die Jahre gekommen sondern wenn man ehrlich ist eine reinste Zumutung … wir hatten sommerliche Temperaturen von knapp 26 grad Außentemperatur. Im Zimmer , welches uns an unsere Urgroßeltern erinnerte hatte weder eine Klimaanlage noch ein heiles Fenster welches man öffnen konnte…. Der bereit gestellte Ventilatior mit einer ca 7cm Staubschicht konnte auf Grund der zu wenig vorhandenen Steckdosen nur genutzt werden , wenn man kein Licht benötigt. Licht gab es nämlich nur über eine Stehlampe … Die Sauberkeit in dem Zimmer ganz zu schweigen, die Toilette von innen braun , Waschbecken und Badewannen Abfluss komplett verschimmelt und der Duschvorhang hatte auch einen fetten schwarzen Schimmelbalken… Wir haben das Zimmer bemängelt und bekamen 3 Schlüssel für andere Zimmer … wir haben dann um 23 Uhr uns für ein Zimmer mit einer uralten Klimaanlage - ( mobiles Gerät mit Schlauch) entschieden … wir (inkl. unserem 7 jährigen Sohn) waren nämlich nicht nur müde sondern auch klitschnass geschwitzt … Als wir dann im neuen Zimmer waren wollten wir uns alle abduschen - der Einstieg in die Badewanne ist für Personen ab 180cm sicher einfach - ich 173cm kam nur mit einer helfenden Hand über den hohen Badewannenrand. Die Nacht war sehr bescheiden - die laute Anlage und die miserablen Betten sorgten für sehr wenig Schlaf. Vom Frühstück möchte ich lieber nicht berichten - eine Reisegruppe von über 60 Personen ließen das Frühstück für uns sehr unangenehm ablaufen!

Die Betten waren sauber und frisch gemacht. Seife, Shampoo und Duschgel waren vorhanden. Frische Hand- und Duschtücher waren vorhanden. Die Rezeption ist rum um die Uhr besetzt, was sehr komfortabel ist, die öffentliche erreichbarkeit ist sehr gut. Und es ist ein günstiger Preis.

I would say the experience was poor or average. The receptionist didn’t even bother to come and collect the key from us at the reception when we were checking out. Every morning at breakfast, we noticed that the floor was never brushed—it was covered in crumbs and other bits. The staff member at the breakfast bar never asked if everything was okay, and we noticed there weren’t enough slices of cheese in the fridge display . Unfortunately, communication was definitely poor. The room cleaner was actually very good—better than the reception staff—and had much better communication skills. They also charge for parking if you want to use the hotel car park. I don’t think I’ll be visiting again if I need to stay in the same area.
