"This lake getaway was amazing! Water was crystal clear and Loons on the lake were a surprising bonus. If you want a place to be away from it all, this is ideal. Charming cabin, delightful host, amazing views. To be noted: the water/toilet/electricity is all on a generator and pump. We weren’t expecting that, but the host was very kind and showed up to walk us through how it all works. No issues after that. Also noted: the driveway is very long winding that is not ideal in the dark. The host talked us through this as well so we were able to find it. Plan ahead and arrive during the daylight. An hour and a half away from Halifax (also wish we had know that). Still, 10/10 would visit this place again. "

"This place is excellent for anyone visiting Nova Scotia South Shore. Mahone Bay itself has a lot of charm and the B and B is located across the water and walking distance from everything you need.
Cathy is an exuberant host. She is incredibly welcoming and was very helpful as we figured out where we wanted to visit each day. My friend and I stayed in different rooms (the Captain's Quarters and Emma's Hideaway) and they both were comfortable and clean.
The breakfast was delicious and Cathy was great at making dietary accommodations.

"The trail behind the hotel was closed. It has nothing to do with the hotel rating, but it's the only area that's walkable. The street in front of the hotel doesn't even have a sidewalk. "

From the pretty window boxes to the designer interior, it creates a welcoming experience for the traveller. The neighbourhood is attractive and a pleasure to experience on an easy walk to Main Street. "
