room is clean but has a strange smell; biggest problem is internet. I come on a business trip and the hotel's internet is the weakest I have seen in the past 10 years, most likely by intention, because it also offers a normal speed with extra fee.

This property feels neglected. I witnessed a business break-in and fleeing criminals on the street at 8pm beside the property so the area felt unsafe. Dirty room carpets and the bathroom felt grimy. At one point all the room cards stopped working, triggering a long queue and wait for guests who could not access their rooms. Pricing is affordable but I would stay elsewhere and pay more next time I'm in Maidenhead.
