"View is ok-main reason to stay here is the history. Great pictures on the walls. Bathroom has been very well remodeled to a high standard. Expected creaky floors add to the charm. Nice restaurant with good food although my medium rare steak came out medium well. Would be helpful for them to better inform re:parking. (Across the street at the rear; one small area in the front to pull into for check in-not even noticed until the next day!)"

"This is such a lovely retreat, all credit to manager Kelly and her family. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and it was much appreciated. The refurbished rooms were nice, clean and warm and the private shower was awesome. We had an awesome time and were lucky to see two kiwi on the grass near the bush even though it was raining, and we heard lots more. It was really magical!"

"We booked the Sunshine House for three generations to celebrate my Mum’s 65th birthday. It is a fabulous location, walking distance to Long Beach and Russell. The house is perfect for hosting a wide range of ages with multiple living zones and a number of bedrooms. Awesome views and indoor/outdoor living with a great deck. A full kitchen makes catering for babies, kids & adults easy and we liked being able to use the Weber BBQ. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend this bach as a holiday destination. "

"We were meant to be 6 adults and 4 children but circumstances reduced our numbers. But we continued with this booking and were so glad we did. The place looks smallish from the road but it is a very good size inside with everything you could need (except a clothes dryer - which doesn't seem to be a Kiwi thing). We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to coming back with the full family group."

"This classic Kiwi home/bach offered the perfect blend of relaxation and convenience. The view was lovely, and the location couldn't be better – just a short stroll to both the beach and town. Ample parking made coming and going a breeze. Inside, we found everything we needed and more, including a well-equipped kitchen for cooking up family meals and a great selection of games for some old-fashioned fun. It was the ideal spot for a traditional Kiwi holiday."

"The location, just a block from the harbor, was excellent. The room was spacious, and the kitchenette well stocked. The decor was not fancy, but we were comfortable and felt at home, which helped make our stay excellent."

"We loved our stay here! It was so lovely waking up surrounded by birds and trees, with a gorgeous view of the water. We enjoyed the walk to town via tracks off the property exploring the surrounding hills.Russel was a great town to stay in for a few days. Access to surrounding areas was easy and Long Beach was great day in the sun.The cabin is well equipped with everything we could have needed! We made a meal at home one night but also loved exploring the local bars and restaurants. Would absolutely recommend this accommodation and would love to go back again."
