Marienberg Abbey in South Tyrol, northern Italy. It was founded in 1149 or 1150 by Ulrich von Tarasp and other nobles.

It has maintained a long tradition of education and, at 1,340 m, it is Europe’s highest abbey. It retains a Baroque style with Romanesque elements, and has some well-maintained frescos.

"The hotel was extremely clean (and I’m very fussy), room were very big, the breakfast was delicious - bonus point for the chef cooking fresh omelettes, crepes and pancakes every morning. There was a lovely man at reception - super lovely and accommodating (sorry I didn’t catch his name!). There were some renovations happening while we were there which was noisy and disruptive buttttt the hotel’s location, rooms, staff and breakfast was amazing. Hope to go back soon ❤️"
