A nice, clean hotel. Very quiet and peaceful. Friendly and approachable staff. Meals were very generous, filling and delicious! Breakfast was a mix of continental and cooked so it set us up for the day. Would love to come back.

A proper country retreat. Warm and welcoming - I honestly felt like a bit of a VIP during my stay. The team sorted a room change for me without any fuss and even arranged a late checkout, which made everything so much easier. The place was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The food and drink were top-notch, especially the produce from the owners’ farm. The staff were first rate throughout: friendly, helpful, and genuinely thoughtful. It made the whole experience feel personal rather than just another work trip. In fact, I enjoyed my stay so much that I’m already planning to come back for a weekend break with my wife, not just for work.

Not the cleanest of hotels!!!

Food and staff were excellent. However, the hotel was let down by the musty smell in the public areas and the cleanliness of the bathroom, which was not good. No fridge or air con. The hotel was over priced for the accommodation offered.

Nice hotel but poor internet connectivity

Nice hotel and room was very nice, good breakfast and dinner was reasonably good too. No elevator was a bit of a problem with the bags, though we did get help when we checked in to get them up two flights of stairs. Internet was very poor, seems they had just changed providers and were having issues

Had a fantastic few days here. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Whenever we asked they always provided an answer to our requests promptly and happily. Charlotte was incredibly informative and passionate in answering our local questions of which her knowledge was invaluable to us. Lovely room we had, being hyper critical it is an old building so the bathroom layout meant you couldn't really have a shower, so bathing it was instead. Had a wonderful stay, highly recommended. So mixed review Firstly the location is great and a lovely building . The first room we had room 15 was very tired so we asked to move and our request was dealt with promptly and professionally and we were move to room 2 This room was much nicer bright and airy although the bathroom floor needs attention and this room would be a 10 rather than a 7 We ate all 3 nights and found the food to excellent as well as breakfast which has a great choice and used the bar which was nice and full of friendly locals. The stand out for us here were the staff they are really pleasant and helpful nothing is too much trouble. We would stay again but would make sure we booked one of the larger rooms such as room 2 as the standard room just wasn’t upto to standard

Lovely Hotel

lovely old fashioned hotel. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable- a lovely hotel. Bar was not overly warm due to log fire out of action but overall a lovely hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Booked to stay again
