Golden Phoenix Hotel Manila

"The staff were lovely and accommodating and helped us with our luggage and provided a warm welcome. The room was very dirty, and not very well maintained. The aircon unit was filthy, and sounded like it was about to break. The walls and skirting boards needed repairing, and the whole room itself felt unclean. The towels were discoloured perhaps from being used over so many years. I wouldn’t stay here again."

"When you check in, the hotel requested a deposit of 10,000 peso or by credit card. I asked if I could leave USD with them, and the hotel refused it. For those who do not have a credit card and stay for a short term, they will have to change from USD to peso and change again when they leave the Philippines. This comes with a cost, in term of money and time. Perhaps, this policy should be clearly stated in hotel advertisement, so that I can chose another hotel that do not require it. Otherwise, the hotel is very clean, staff members are good, and the breakfasts and outdoor pool are fine."

"The good things first. Check- in to this property was smooth and quick, unlike when I tried to check-in at Tower 3, a week earlier. The staff are very nice and professional. The room itself was as described. It's a small one bedroom with a sitting/dining area, balcony and the washing machine and drying rack made it easy to do laundry. It was a 10 minute walk to Mall of Asia and there are shops and restaurants in the differed tower buildings, as well as nearby. The bad things. The room was not clean and hadn'tbeen in a while. There were dead bugs on the floor and live bugs crawling around the bathroom and kitchen. There was dust covering every surface, too. The internet was off when I first got there and did not come on until the next morning, then it went off in the evenings of my last two nights staying there, but it was restored within two hours of me contracting the host. There was also a strong, unpleasant odor in the hallway where my room was. I suspect it was from the cleaning chemicals being used, but it made me gag. If not for the those negative things, my stay would have been more pleasant."

"Normally I do not bother with these surveys but in Conrad's case I will. This place is expensive to stay at, but worth the extra dollars when factoring in the way the staff and property go the extra mile to make you feel like you are truly a king and queen staying at your very own castle. There is not a single area I would complain about. Our stay in one of the executive rooms was flawless and wonderful experience."

"Even though management tried to keept pests out, my room was filled with cockroaches and I had to spray the door everytime I left to kill them. When I requested my condo be swept to get rid pf the dead cockroaches, it never was. There were also dead cockroaches in the hallway. This situation was unacceptable for me. Also, there was no washer in the unit."

"This Condo was located in a area in Manila, Philippines. Plenty of restaurants to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A very short drive to the Airport. Friendly and courteous staff. The host responded well helping when the internet was out in the whole building."
