I didn't really like the first 2-3 nights at the hotel since my room was not well cleaned. There was a sandwich inside the closet when I got there. The shower was too small.

Hôtel non rénové et malpropre. les chambres sont très petites, coffre fort non fonctionnel et tout est sale et dégueulasse à vue. Petite place pour une seule valise et aucune place pour une trousse de toilette dans la salle de bain. En plus interdit d’apporter un breuvage ou de la nourriture de l’extérieur même pas une bouteille d’eau, on doit acheter sur place à l’hôtel, (du jamais vu). La photo de la prise électrique est celle en entrant dans la salle de bain. Points forts: bien situé hors de la médina, lit confortable et étonnamment literie propre,

Mangler generelt vedlikehold. Elektriskw bokser som ikke er festet. Betjent til frokost som steller i hagen og plukkker frukter for å gå tilbake til kjøkken. Barverter som gir deg vannmelon når du bestller øl, vi trodde det var gratis, men det kostet faktisk penger, og det uten å spørr eller informere om at kom tillegg på regning. Veldig harde senger med dobbelt dyne (som vi ikke liker). Respesjonsbetjening var hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Hele Marraches er kun ett stort snyt av tourister, og ingen informasjoner på engelsk i ett land som fåtall kan forstå eller snakke engelsk. Skal du hit, blir det mye bruk av google translate, med mindre du kan fransk. Forventet faktisk at ett internasjonalt hotell med europeiske og amerikansk flagg på utsiden hadde menyer og annen informsjon på engelsk. Prøver du å sende e-post til hotellet så blir den aldri besvart.

4 night stay at Hotel Akabar

The hotel was very good for the price we paid per night (around £18). The rooms were basic but the beds were really comfortable. The restaurant serve a reasonable menu and also alcohol, however you can’t rely that you will be served what you asked for. Nevertheless the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is good as it’s half way between the big square medina and the new town so if you don’t mind walking 10mins in either direction it’s very easy. Unfortunately the pool was out of use when we got there (in fact looked under construction) which we were not told about previously.

The Hotel Akabar desperately needs a coat of paint and a reno. It must have been a beauty when new. The bar was nice, it is nice to have a pool to cool down. The staff was all friendly and nice. The location is perfect. Close to both Gueliz and the Old Medina. A supermarket is also just a couple of blocks away. I recommend staying as a great location and value proposition.
