"This lovely one bedroom cabin is located just far enough to feel secluded, but within 20 minutes of a grocery store and restaurants. It is equipped with everything you need to be comfortable. The hosts have excellent communication and strive to make sure their guests are comfortable, well informed, and get the privacy they desire. The back porch is a dream and where we spent many hours listening to the birds, watching squirrels play, and reading our books. The walking trails on the property are well marked and a great way to explore nature and get some exercise. The cabin is perfect for a weekend getaway for a couple. Looking forward to coming back!"

"Cabins are more spacious inside than they appear. Very clean throughout, and the bed was super comfortable. Cute decor and nice shower/tub combo with good water pressure and hot water. Cabin # 2's deck is visible to Cabin # 3 and vice versa if sitting on the deck, but it was otherwise very private and peaceful. You could walk to Devil's Backbone and are within a 1-5 minute drive to DB, Blue Toad, Bold Rock, Three Notch'd, and many other breweries, cideries, wineries, and restaurants. Cannot beat the location! Easy self-check-in/out, good signage, and easy to find. We stayed 1 night, so we didn't need a microwave, but could see where this would be an amenity to be desired in the unit itself if staying longer. There is a microwave in the shared lodge, so if you need access to one frequently, then I would recommend staying in unit # 7-10 as it is a closer and easier walk to get to. Also, the tubs are deep and require a larger step in/out, so I would suggest one of the units that has the walk-in shower if you have mobility issues. I believe 2 units are more mobility accessible. I would recommend this property to family and friends and will return when visiting the area again. Great stay!"

"We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Chestnut House over a long weekend. The place was incredibly clean and well provisioned with everything we could need. We had no issues during our stay, but Maria and Randy were helpful and responsive in all communications leading up to our check in. We enjoyed sitting down by the river with our pups and building a fire in the fire pit each night. I think this place is a great value for the all of the high end details of the house like the nice modern updated bathrooms and kitchen. We would definitely stay here again! Also, I recommend picking up some burger patties from Grass n Grit market to grill at the house."

"Excellent experience just a hop skip and a jump off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Glamping at its best — mature forests and a babbling brook with fire pit, grill and a porch made for sitting and relaxing along with AC and WiFi. Excellent host who has thought of everything from ice trays to steak knives. Bring provisions, because the nearest store is not close by."

"Cabin was great! Alicia was a great host, letting us know if anything was going to happen at the cabin promptly. Because of the lack of cell reception we had to go to town to get her messages, but that's ok!Place was clean and well stocked (thanks for the coffee!). Beds were comfortable. Property is secluded. The cabin is close to many small towns, so we got to go on many adventures. Hiking was a big part of our trip. Some other things we enjoyed were: the creek out back, the firepit (We did buy 2 of our own chairs since the small ones were too small for our children) Dinosaur Kingdom II, the safari, downtown Lexington (specifically the games store and arcade), The Fishing Pig restaurant in Waynesboro and the go kart track right next to it. We hiked Crabtree Falls, Blue Ridge Tunnel, Natural Bridge and Humpback rocks. All within driving distance."

"Wonderful quiet retreat, perfect for a relaxing getaway! Beautiful and peaceful. Creek is right in front of the cabin, so nice to sit on the deck or by the fire pit and watch the water.Cabin was very clean and nice. The cabins are close together but still has a really private vibe. Pictures don’t do it justice! The owner was just great with communication. Will definitely be back!"
