You'll enjoy the museums and monuments in Matsue Shinjiko Onsen. You might want to make time for a stop at Shijimikan Museum or Lake Shinji.

I was in love with this hotel the first time and subsequently stayed 2 more times for a total of 4 nights. My first room was a corner Japanese style room with lake view. A very unique experience. Will be excellent if the restaurant can serve some warm food, having a full length mirror inside the cottage will be nice, and a thicker body towel

Matsue Castle is beautiful, and Matsue is a good location to visit nearby tourist spots, such as Izumo Taisha, Yomotsu hirasaka, Adachi Museum, and more, although is not a commonly visited prefecture is rich in culture and tourist spots.
The Matsue castle is grand; still in its original form untouched from the devastation of war.
Matsue offers so many great sites to see and is a short drive or bus ride from the seashore. The food and shopping options around the Dormy Inn are many.
In addition to Matsue castle, we visited Yuushien, famous for peonies and beautiful Japanese gardens, on bus and Yakumo Koizumi museum (Lafcadio Hearn) which was very informative and interesting. We also loved its famous sunset.
