The hotel was a wonderful place to stay in Menaggio! It's not a huge property so it's quiet and has a family run, boutique feel and you can really feel the love put into the property. The breakfast spread was the huge and delicious! The staff was friendly. As others have noted it is a trek up a hill to get to the property if you don't have a car. My husband and I were able to do it with our luggage, but we pack light and it was a bit strenuous. If you have a few bags especially roller bags I'd recommend getting a taxi outside Hotel Du Lac to get your luggage up. We loved being tucked away on the quiet mountainside. A wonderful stay.

Pleasant staff and the hotel and rooms felt quite traditional and nice. Great and large balcony for our ground floor room with incredible views. Nice little pool and great buffet breakfast. If you are coming from the ferry, access is 20 mins walk via steep cobbled streets which was challenging and we (I) had to carry our suitcases as the wheels were in danger of coming off! Decent parking by the look of it but consider a cab if you’re on foot. Over all a very pleasant stay.

The breakfast was good, lots of options to chose from depending on your personal preference. Location is convenient for not only accessing menaggio, but also the other many towns along the lake. The ferry makes for easy access across the lake. The Piazza is a roughly 20 minute walk from hotel. Its uphill the whole way back but not too bad. You can also drive down, but parking can be tricky if not there early enough. The room was ok, but was a bit tired, worn and in need of renovation. The balcony with partial view of the lake was nice, especially in the morning for sunrise. The room offers little sound muffeling and you could hear the toilets flushing, people opening and closing doors or coughing. The staff were friendly, kind and doing their best to acomodate. Though it felt like they were understaffed and trying to manage a lot. The pool is nice.

Nice hotel running by family, Roger and his son Somuelle were very nice and gave us advice how to park car in the town, Mountain View’s, walked once upstairs, othe time parked car near lake for free

It is a very nice 7 min pleasant walk to center square, and only 6 min to ferry boat station. Very quiet so can sleep in and the owner Roger is very nice, he even gave me 2 free glasses of wine just for talking to him. I would stay here again

We had a very good time staying at this hotel. The room was very clean and included air condition. Nice breakfast and staff. Calm and nice neighborhood, close to centrum but very steep and many stairs but that is to count for when you live on a mountain. Would gladely stay there again.

Quick overnight in Menaggio

The hotel stay was just what we needed. A quick walk to the downtown area (via sidewalks and stairs). But watch our for the relatively steep walk back. We had plenty of room, our car parked close, and a great view from our balcony. They have a great pool area as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The staff were wonderful here. The bedrooms are old but we knew that prior to coming and Menaggio is so spectacular we are only in room to sleep! Rooms did have option of Netflix and prime which was great. Breakfast delicious - continental with small amount of cooked food. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and polite, my children and I loved them. We didn’t have a car and walked everywhere but you must have good level of fitness to do this as hotel up very steep hills with many (many) steps. Has car park though if you have a rental. Gorgeous swimming pool and sunbed area. Play park with football goals opposite hotel. Loved it and will return Thank you Sonenga ♥️

Basic hotel close to Menaggio city Square

There were ants on the Floor of the room and the furniture was very 80’s like. Also the walls and celings was very thin and you could easily hear your nabour. So very basic indeed. But, the staff was very nice, but had a hard time understanding basic english. The sourroundings and pool area was very nice and quite. The hotel is situated within 10 minuts walk of city square of Menaggio and the ferry port. But overall, compared to the Price level of hotels in Menaggio, it was very good.

The family room for 4 was in terrible condition. The drain in bath was choked, air conditioning didn’t work properly leading us to sleep in cold. The extended bed was uncomfortable. We had dinner in the accommodation which was fine. Overall not so good
