Located less than a mile from beautiful'Camp Juliette Low,' this wonderful two story, two bedroom, two bathroom house is situated on eleven wilderness acres bordering hundreds of Auting tract State Preserve. This property features one of the most centrally located, most accessible rentals in the area. This A-Frame home offers such amenities as spacious, open-loft, common area, complete with hardwood floors throughout, wood burning stone fireplace, huge deck, screened porch and fire pit for post-shopping or outdoor evening conversation. Kitchen faucet barely trickled water, jet tub did not work, very little light outside due to no bulbs or burnt out bulbs, 2 small trashbags left for us for a 7day stay. Have to take your trash to the dump drop off in town (Menlo). Dog friendly but the crate they provide is outside with a moldy pad in it. Do not recommend.

Summary: Lazy hosts with scammer intentionsJetted Tub – Advertised But Non-Functional since October 2023No Mountain ViewUnmaintained Garden - The listing mentioned a garden, but upon arrival, the outdoor space was not maintained and was covered in leaves and debris. I had to clear the property myself before utilization.False Claim of a Fully Stocked Refrigerator with Basic Cooking Ingredients - The listing explicitly stated:"Fully stocked refrigerator with complimentary basic cooking ingredients for your convenience."However, the refrigerator was completely bare, with no non-perishable basics such as flour, sugar, or cooking essentials.Unclean & Poor Property ConditionsThe property was unclean and in poor condition upon arrival. Maintenance issues included:Kitchen stove missing a knobBroken humidifierDishwasher door dropping to the floor when openedThe host required guests to strip beds and remove all linens before departure. Adequate accommodations

The cabin is pretty good, about what I would expect for the price point. It is spacious and clean enough (not spotless). It worked just fine for a family of four hiking enthusiasts. However, it would NOT sleep 8 people. The living room furniture is terribly uncomfortable. The master bed needs a platform or box spring to raise it to a reasonable height. I did appreciate being able to do laundry, and the kitchen had everything needed for basic meals. The location and woodland setting are fantastic. As I mentioned, we travel quite a bit and knew not to expect luxury here, so we were in no way disappointed. The only thing I would consider a complaint is the inaccurate listing i.e. beds, and the fact that the water heater makes very loud noises which might need some attention.

Nice place

Wonderful host, place need some tlc tho. Cleaning was below expectations. Don't visit during a snowstorm, if you want to adventure around because people are not used to it and most businesses close down even with just 2 inches of snow. Only few food stores will open.

The Stinson’s

It is located in a serene location with lots of privacy and trails to walk. The host made special accommodations for us to arrive a tad early so I could stay on schedule with my health regimen. We will definitely run away to this cabin again for some rest and relaxation!

Comfortable Stay

The cabin was mostly as described, however it does not sleep 8; it sleeps 6. The property was secluded and a great place for the kids and our dogs to play. Very close to many great waterfall hikes. The kitchen was a little light on utensils, it was a good thing my daughters came up a day after us so they could bring supplies from home.

Nice cabin in the woods

We really enjoyed our stay. The place is very secluded and private. It is a little dated but served us well. The bed was very comfortable but a little low making it difficult for older folks to get in and out of. After some problems getting the heat turned on, everything was just great. We were able to stream of TV shows from our phone so we didn't miss any of our favorite shows. Highly recommend De Soto State Park and Little River Canyon National Preserve as places to explore. Would defiantly stay again.

Another Awesome Stay

We stay in the area when visiting family and this is our go-to place when it's available! We come back for a reason! It's a great location with a lot of open space. There's no seeing the neighbors from here. It's easy to miss the drive if you're going for the first time so just look for the electrical wires crossing the road above! The cabin is lovely with a great kitchen/eating area, as well as good Internet and television service through the ROKU TV that you may be able to log into your own TV service through (we have Youtube TV so it was no problem). Thanks for another awesome stay!

Cabin Getaway

This was a great home base to visit all the parks in the area. We loved coming back here after a day of exploring and still being surrounded by nature in the adorable cabin. The layout was perfect with us downstairs and my teenage son and his friend in the room upstairs in the loft. Two bathrooms was a olus! Can’t wait to stay here again.

Two 1970s kids celebrating their first anniversary of being a couple.

Excellent location. Great cabin. The weather felt fallish is a constant breeze so we enjoyed coffee and wine on the back porch. My sweetheart got up early enough to see three deer in the yard. All I saw was squirrels up in the tree shredding hickernuts. That’s hickory nuts for you city folk. We had our small fur babies with us and barked every time they heard something during the night. So obviously plenty of wildlife came out in the night. Great peace and quiet. Can’t wait to visit again. Only suggestion is clear a few limbs so the beautiful sunset can be seen in the summer too.

Family Weekend Getaway

This cabin is awesome! It doesn’t have a sign out front and it has a hidden drive way so at first we didn’t know if we were in the right place but the picture lets you know it’s right when you see the cabin. It was great for the price and we had great time. The owners have all kinds of information about the surrounding area attractions. The Hatter Cafe is a must visit! The cabin secludes in the woods and has fabulous views!

Disappointed with Property

The cabin was dirty with dust and cobwebs, the screening on the back porch was all torn up. The oven was filthy on the inside both upper and lower ovens. The gas stove had a missing control knob, the dishwasher door was floppy and fell to the floor when opened. The downstairs bedroom bed only had a very thin top mattress on a board within the bed frame causing a sleepless night. My granddaughter had the upstairs bedroom leaving us the downstairs bedroom. We reserved and paid for this property for a two night stay however we left after one night due to the conditions and we were uncomfortable. I do hope the owners read this review and take steps to correct the issues I listed.

Best vacation we have had as a family

This place was amazing, the perfect getaway. It was the perfect mix of feels like home while away from it all. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Weekend getaway

Lovely remote cabin located on HWY 157 (Lookout Mountain Parkway) about halfway between the towns of Mentone, AL and Menlo, GA. Mentone is a quaint and beautiful town on the top of Lookout Mountain. Be sure to visit the DeSoto State Park, Cloudland State Park, and Little River Canyon National Preserve. All within a 30 minute drive of the cabin!!!! This area is an outdoor’s lover paradise!!! Or, if your goal is just to relax in a comfy, remote cabin this is place is a great choice.

Beautiful cabin!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The cabin is very cozy and secluded, perfect for a chance to recharge. There is a nice little trail out back too! Some of the kitchen utensils and cookware need to be replaced, but otherwise it’s a perfect spot to get away and relax. Also the host is very helpful and communicative when I needed anything. Would stay here again.
