The Neighborhood:
Polanco is Mexico City’s most prestigious and cosmopolitan neighborhood—often likened to New York’s Upper East Side or Paris’ 16th arrondissement. Renowned for its elegant architecture, tree-lined avenues, cultural institutions, and vibrant culinary scene, it offers an unmatched combination of style, sophistication, and accessibility.
Staying at Lamartine Hotel Boutique places you directly on Avenida Masaryk, Latin America’s most exclusive shopping boulevard—home to iconic brands like Chanel, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and Rolex.
From your doorstep, you’re just a short walk from:
• Antara Fashion Hall and El Palacio de Hierro Polanco, two of the city’s top luxury retail destinations
• Museo Soumaya, Museo Jumex, and the Acuario Inbursa, showcasing art, design, and family-friendly attractions
• Parque Lincoln, one of Polanco’s most beloved green spaces—perfect for morning jogs, weekend strolls, or quiet people-watching
• Acclaimed restaurants such as Pujol, Quintonil, Cipriani, Emilio, and Masa
• A wide variety of stylish cocktail bars, wine lounges, and rooftops—ideal for evenings out
Polanco is also conveniently located near Mexico City’s major business hubs, including Reforma, Lomas, and Santa Fe, making it a strategic base for both leisure and corporate travelers.
Whether you’re here for gastronomy, culture, shopping, or work, Lamartine offers front-row access to everything that makes Polanco one of the world’s most desirable urban destinations.
Getting Around:
For luxury travelers, Mexico City offers a range of comfortable, safe, and stylish ways to explore its vibrant neighborhoods—and staying at Lamartine Hotel Boutique in Polanco means you’re already in one of the city’s most walkable and elegant areas.
Walking in Polanco
Polanco is made for walking. With its tree-lined avenues, designer boutiques, art galleries, cafés, and world-class restaurants all within a few blocks, many guests find that the best way to experience the neighborhood is simply on foot. Parque Lincoln, Avenida Masaryk, and countless charming corners are just steps away from Lamartine.
Private Car, Taxi, or Uber
For venturing beyond Polanco, we recommend Uber Black or booking a private driver for comfort, reliability, and peace of mind.
• Uber is widely available, secure, and offers a seamless app-based experience.
• Taxis de sitio (official taxis) can be arranged by our concierge or found at marked stands throughout the city. Avoid flagging taxis on the street for safety.
We’re happy to arrange private transportation or bilingual drivers for shopping, meetings, or excursions.
Metro & Metrobús
While the Metro and Metrobús systems are efficient and extremely affordable, they tend to be overcrowded—especially during peak hours—and are best suited for the more adventurous traveler.
• If you choose to ride the Metro, travel light, avoid rush hours, and be mindful of your belongings.
• Metrobús requires a rechargeable card and runs along major avenues like Insurgentes.
Tourist Bus (Turibús)
The Turibús is a popular option for seeing the city’s landmarks in comfort. This double-decker sightseeing bus offers narrated tours (in 8 languages) with hop-on, hop-off service at iconic stops across the city. It’s ideal for a relaxed overview of Mexico City’s historic and cultural highlights. Service runs daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Driving Yourself
We do not recommend driving unless absolutely necessary. Traffic is dense, parking is limited, and local driving customs can be unpredictable. If you choose to rent a car, major agencies operate at the airport and in select city locations. For stress-free travel, we recommend private transport over self-driving.
