If you get a chance to stay here - I highly recommend it. The onsen is beautiful, but the staff and ambiance make it one of my favorite trips of all time.

Simple and Relaxing
A peaceful and relaxing simple retreat. Old style ryokan with tatami mats etc. We used the men only onsen and were basically alone in there. It was very clean and hot. Perfect. Also they offered complimentary coffee, tea and ramen cup. They provided everything we needed for using the baths.

Very special property that we loved. We stayed in January and esp loved the onsen and subfloor heating. Check in was easy enough because there was the option of online pre-registration. Kurokawa Onsen town is fairly unremarkable compared to the other top 10 Onsen towns we been to in Japan. Yumerindo was a huge disappointment and the worst hotel of our 3 week trip to Japan.
