Reiseart: Geschäftsreise Dauer: 1 Nacht Für eine Geschäftsreise war ich eine Nacht im Best Western Hotel Liberta in Modena untergebracht – und selbst diese kurze Zeit war leider eine Enttäuschung. Das Hotel wirkt stark in die Jahre gekommen und bietet weder den Standard noch den Komfort, den man von einem etablierten Markennamen wie Best Western erwarten darf. Das Zimmer war zwar sauber gefliest, aber die Fliesen stammten offensichtlich noch aus den 1980er-Jahren – kalt, ungemütlich und optisch absolut überholt. Teppich gab es nicht, was grundsätzlich kein Problem wäre, aber die gesamte Einrichtung war spürbar veraltet. Im Badezimmer wurde es dann richtig unangenehm: Die Decke war mit Holz vertäfelt – in einem feuchten Raum eine denkbar schlechte Wahl. Entsprechend konnte man an mehreren Stellen Schimmel entdecken, vor allem im Bereich der Badewanne. Duschprodukte oder andere Basics, wie Shampoo oder Seife, waren nicht vorhanden – was heutzutage selbst in günstigen Unterkünften Standard ist. Noch ärgerlicher fand ich, dass es nicht einmal eine kostenlose Flasche Wasser im Zimmer gab. Stattdessen sollte man für ein einfaches Wasser aus der Minibar extra zahlen – ein Unding in der heutigen Zeit. Gerade nach einer Anreise oder einem Arbeitstag erwarte ich zumindest ein Mindestmaß an Gastfreundschaft in Form von kostenlosem Trinkwasser. Für ein Hotel, das international firmiert, ist das einfach nicht akzeptabel. Das Best Western Hotel Liberta ist deutlich in die Jahre gekommen

Speedy and friendly check-in, but provided a room with two single beds, when a queen bed was originally requested and confirmed before the stay. Very dangerous shower door (a disaster waiting to happen if it smashes, as it’s very very brittle), and a slippery bathroom floor. Ac and ventilation were both poor. Shower gel completely used in room. Room was very no frills and dark.

This hotel is in an excellent central location on a quiet street. Very very nice staff. It’s a bit dated and a bit old fashioned but comfy and the breakfast was decent and had variety of pastries, cereal, fruit, cheese and a couple of hot options. Would definitely stay here again.
