Mi Familia

This is definitely a hostel, so shared rooms (unless you reserve a private room), but it is clean, the wifi is very good (320 mbps up and down according to ookla), the front desk woman is very kind, they provide a bath towel, and it is located in a very old part of town (the street is very narrow). It would be helpful to bring a combination lock to lock up your valuables in the provided lockers in the shared rooms. The nearby restaurant "Madre Oaxaca" looks like it has a great mole dish.

Very clean and comfortable stay in the male dorm room. Charging outlets by each bed. Roommates were respectful. Clean kitchen and bathrooms. Friendly staff. Close to nightlife, restaurants and shopping. The Wi-Fi didn’t work as well in the upstairs room I was in but worked well in the downstairs common area.

I thought they offered everything you could have asked for: drinking water, privacy cover and outlets at the beds, lockers, a towel and showers, they might have had laundry too but I didn't need it. All of that in a cool looking place and convenient location. When I was there, I think I was the only non-native Spanish speaker which means it's a good opportunity to practice what you've learned, but at least practice vocabulary for things you might need like the amenities mentioned. 👍

A big, pleasant surprise. I chose this property for the price and location, with the preconceived idea that it was going to be a bad experience. When I arrived at the hostel, I was pleasantly surprised to see the property well maintained, located in a safe and very Instagramable part of the city. The rooms were bigger that I imagined and to my surprise very clean. The lower floor has about five showers and restrooms with privacy features to make guests feel safe. Unlike other hostels that I have visited, My Family, provides clean sheets and towels, toilet paper, napkins, and a kitchen room with everything guests need to store and microwave food. Check in and out was easy. The staff was pleasant and available 24/7. I traveled with a family of young adults and stayed in the quadruple room which has a big queen size bed good enough for someone 6'2" and a bunk bed with two twin beds. The room was huge and had a working AC ! a big plus when traveling to Monterrey. I totally recommend this place.

What I like about this property is the walking distance to everything, from museums, river walk, restaurants and street food, bars, shopping, etc. Also the price per night was great, and the help from the front desk was good, since I inadvertently got a room without a bath, and she was kind enogh to change it for us. But there were few things that I didn't like it, like the water from the shower wasn't draining properly, the bedding was wornd down, pillows also were not good, only toilet paper was there nothing else. The door of our room we cannot opened from the inside and i have to call the front desk to come and unlock it for us. Also on friday night the music all around the property from bars and restaurants was so loud that we cannot sleep. For us was an ok experience cominig from a hostel. I never before rented one, i guess that's why was not what I expected. May be for young people wanting to party is exellent but for us wasn't too too bad, I guess you get what you are paying for. Also the wheater didn't help us to enjoy the surroundings for was pouring rain every day.

Excelente opción si vienes de paseo

Es una elección excelente si vienes para estancias cortas, o si te la quieres pasar vagando por la ciudad, las habitaciones están cómodas y aunque haya más gente ahí tienen cortinas para la privacidad de cada cama, no hay mucho espacio para almacenaje y cuenta con casilleros en las habitaciones, rentan candados en recepción para cerrarlos, si no traes toalla ellos rentan y venden las cremita y jabones típicos de los horeles. En general mi experiencia fue muy buena y no tuve ningún problema para llegar, está bien ubicado y cuenta con cocina para preparar tus alimentos si llevas.
