"Clean room, great location, wonderful staff"

"Misleading at best. I booked this stay for my daughter's 16th birthday weekend. The description showed a beautiful entrace, well appointed rooms, restaurant, bar (obviously not for my daughter, for myself and her Aunt), and indoor swimming pool. Let's move on to checking in-The outside of the Lodge does NOT look like the photos it was old dated but still presentable. The lobby was nice and looked like it was going to be a great stay. Then I spoke with the woman at the front desk as we arrived early around noon. We tried to check in if possible. She said well sorry but we only guarantee the room by 4. I relayed to her that i was aware of that but just thought we'd try. I asked for her to give us a call when it was ready. The call came at 3 and we came back. She then stated oh you're in a standard two queen room thats not in here. I asked if there were other rooms because this was my first time booking with them. She responded a bit snarky well yes there are other rooms, you're just not in them. OK, that's nice, recieved the keys, yes actual keys and proceeded to the other rooms she spoke of down the hill. The only accesses was through stairs. Not a problem, just difficult. We entered our room and it smelled musky and old, translation, unclean. The wall paper was coming off of the wall, dresser was dusty, no fridge or microwave. (Guess that was the other rooms) the pool NON Existing they filled it in 5 or 6 years ago!!!! DISAPPOINTING we left and booked with Hilton! "

"The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean however the Wi-Fi in our room went in and out. Overall a great place to stay and close to highway."

"It’s a motel. Nothing that fancy. But it’s clean and safe. And has a charm. It is not a chain and it doesn’t feel like one. There are little details, little amenities that make it feel like some cares- The motel room coffee station was well stocked with coffee bags and a variety of caffeine and herbal brand name teas. The small room was well organized with plugs and storage and a desk and stocked with towels. The little map and welcome letter provided wifi password and informed us quiet hours after 10. It’s about 2 miles from downtown Bloomington- not especially walkable, but it’s a straight shot and Uber and Lyft are active and reliable. There is a little bar adjacent with some light snacks if you wanna wind down. The breakfast is typical- fruit, toast, cereal, coffee, juice, yogurt- but I was pleased with the varieties of flavors of the activia and chobani yogurt and breakfast runs until 10 am. It’s just a motel. No frills. But it’s a good one. I would stay again."
