For a day at the beach, the golden sands of Amble Sands (800 metres), Druidge Bay, Warkworth Beach and Alnmouth are all within 6.5 miles and perfect for sandcastle building and refreshing coastal walks. History buffs will be itching to explore Alnwick Castle (9 miles), famous for its connections to Harry Potter and where visitors can learn to fly a broomstick before losing themselves in the bamboo labyrinth at Alnwick Garden. Avid walkers are well served, too. Follow the Northumberland Coast Path (joined at Amble Harbour), where rugged cliffs, hidden coves, and sweeping sea views stretch for miles.

To the left is a spacious lounge, which will be the heart of the home during your stay. The sleek kitchen/diner is equipped with everything needed to concoct your tastiest dishes to serve at the solid six-seater dining table. The utility room is a handy feature for holiday washing. Upstairs are three calming bedrooms, each with crisp linens and decorated in soothing hues. There are two king-size bedrooms – one with a Smart TV for long lie-ins – and a charming twin bedroom. Also on this floor is the shared modern bathroom, with a walk-in shower, bath and WC.
