Great room, clean sheets and towels, but it would be great that before guests arrive they should have the fridge on and also provide an iron and enough utensils.
I enjoyed the stay. People are lovely and welcoming. The place warmful and it feels like home.

Valley View Guest Lodge | Pilanesberg
The service level was poor, below our expectation. Hotel staff not communicative to the extent of preparing unconfirmed breakfast.
We found this a bit strange for a guest lodge.
Misleading/inaccurate business listing; Worst ever
The Guest House's advert online is totally inaccurate and misleading. It only describes and shows photos of the main building; yet not of a separate building located about 5 minutes away, which is where they send many guests.
We were among the unfortunate ones to be told, upon check-in, that there's no vacancy at the main site. Instead, we were given a room that is of the worst standard ever seen.
The carpet was wet from a leaking sliding door, so the room smelled very bad from mildew. We requested a room that didn't smell but were told the place was fully booked -- no apologies or sympathy shown at all by the staff, despite that we had children with us.
There was no running water when we arrived, so couldn't take showers before bedtime (which we needed to do because we had to leave the next morning before sunrise for a very early game drive); and clearly management was aware of this because they provided buckets of water in the bathroom to flush the toilet. In the morning, some water did eventually come out of the tap, but it was cold (no hot water at all).
There was also no internet in the room.
We paid around USD$170 for the night, despite this being of brothel quality! The place was a major rip-off and was not anything like the place that we expected, according to the booking made online.
The staff was nice, but my main issues were with the layout and cleanliness of the property itself. In case this isn't in the description -this property is actually 2 guest houses, spread over 1km/mile apart. When we arrived, we were told the main house (where we had hoped to stay, as that's where breakfast and reception are located) is completely booked, and that we'd have to drive down a circular road to the second (overflow) house. They gave us vague driving directions, but because nobody escorted us (and the building numbers are strangely out-of-order) we had trouble finding the second guest house. When we finally arrived, we checked into our rooms, which had a slight sewage smell and whose bathrooms lacked soap and toiletries. The water in our toilet was continuously circulating with brown foam inside, even unused. We appreciated the AC and the comfy bed, as well as the service, but would rather have stayed in the main house or at least cleaner rooms. Hope this helps, travelers!

Affordable and Good Location.
The Hotel is well located next to Manyane Gate of Pilanesberg National Park. Also Close to Sun City. The Family room was clean but very basic. Beautiful Garden area and swimming pool.

Could have done more
The guest house was very nice with a beautiful Mediterranean styled garden. We requested a ground floor unit as my wife is on oxygen. We were met with lots of stairs due to the split levels of the house. Dinner was pricey at R200 per person. My wife cannot eat so much food so we went looking for takeaways or a shop and the only option was nearby Sun Village shopping centre was extremely busy. The next day we visited the Pilanesberg National Park and returned to find ourselves locked out due to a power failure in the area. The room was in darkness and we were unable to power or charge my wife's oxygen concentrator and we battled with cellphones as lights. This is not the fault of the guest house but they failed to offer us so much as a candle. There was cold water that night and the next morning and my wife suffered a debilitating headache from oxygen shortage. They were unable to offer breakfast as usual but made us a bacon and egg sandwich with some coffee. We left 2 hours early as we had to get the oxygen machine charged in the car. They could have powered up the generator at least to offer us a charging point.
Our room was quite different to what photos suggested. The location is also quite tricky to find being inside a residential area. The guest house is clearly geared for the local traveller.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
