  • I'm not a "Gear-Head" by any means but... I do love German engineering and am specially fond of BMW, who now owns MINI Cooper. This is the 1955 BMW Isetta (1955–62), also known as the "Bubble-Car". 161,728 units were made. Although Italian designed it was licensed for manufacture in several different countries. If your looking to get a decent Isetta today expect to pay a bit north of $40,000. I like it... It's just silly enough for me and I need to know how many clowns we can fit into one. As far as the museum goes... a MUST do when visiting Munich, even if your not a gear-head.

Contemporary design, young and fresh

Very nice, trendy, contemporary design. Small distance from closest U2 station, but plenty of Lime scooters and bikes made that quite pleasant.

My experience at The Base in Munich was great. The check in and check out process was handled quickly and efficiently, and the staff was always helpful and engaging. The breakfast options were delicious and well priced, and the rooms were quiet and comfortable.

Hotel was clean and modern in appearance. Staff was very friendly. My only problem was that there wasn’t many dining or restaurant options near the hotel nor were there any shopping malls or stores close by. The hotel was great it’s just that there wasn’t much of anything else in the area. There was public transportation options in the area which was a plus.

The host at the Base was very friendly she answered all my questions and was helpful when I needed towels and other services. She gave great recommendations, making our time in Munich for Oktoberfest a blast. My only complaint was I wasn’t able to control the AC for some reason.

The Base is pretty out of the way for seeing Munich and there isn’t much around the hotel, but when you’re there it’s a great spot! Room was clean and very comfortable. Was intimidated by the self check-in at first but it was overall smooth and easy to sort out. Definitely worth the price!

The place is very clean and chic and well priced. Be aware the locations is reachable via transit, however, weekends the buses in the area have limited times. The walk to train is 10-15min and it’s very safe.

The staff couldn't do enough for us and went over and above that expected. Very clean rooms and building. Comfortable beds. Good shower. The nearest u-bahn station was a 15/20 minute walk. The bus stop was close by with buses a bit less regular than trains. Ebikes and scooters on local streets for rent. No tea/ coffee facilities in rooms but you can get hot drinks when staff are on duty and there is a communal kettle downstairs.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff, and a comfortable coworking space. With a car sharing (e.g., miles) or a taxi it is to reach. The next subway is around 20 minutes walk and a bus is not really reliable

There are multiple bus lines that take you to the subway, which then can take you to the city center. My room was clean and ready by the time I checked-in. It's in a quiet part of Munich, so you'll get as much needed time away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas but still close enough to get to those same areas by bus and subway.

The Base Hotel in Munich offers a commendable stay with its unique aesthetic and friendly service. There is a pool table and lounge area downstairs. While there was a slight hiccup during check-in, it was a minor issue that didn't overshadow the overall pleasant experience. The hotel's immediate vicinity doesn't boast a plethora of activities, the cost of the hotel makes up for it, ensuring a comfortable and serene stay.
