In the heart of town;Upscale Historical Home;Walk to Lake Superior&Boat Cruises!

Doc's place has 4 roomy bedrooms - 3 with a queen bed each and the 4th with 2 twin beds. All have luxury bedding. There are 2 portable twin beds and a sofa sleeper for additional beds. Two bathrooms, 1 on the main floor and 1 upstairs where the bedrooms are locate. The kitchen is upscale with stainless steel appliances and quality cook ware. Large dining table for family meals and games. Large living room with large flatscreen tv, comfortable furnishings, sunroom with tables and chairs for morning coffee/breakfast and additional seating. A washer and dryer is included for your use. Enjoy outside on the patio or deck for evening drinks and watching the sun go down. We are centrally located in Munising for all of your outdoor activities! We are within walking distance of bayshore park, farmers market, pictured rocks cruises, lake shore bike path, pier fishing, coffee shop, pottery shop, ice cream, books, gifts, fudge, restaurants, churches and much, much more!

Holidays may require longer stays, please inquire.

Attention winter guests - This is a great place in town for ice climbers, crossing country skiers and snowshoers (close to Valley Spur trails), and winter relaxation! Snowmobilers are also welcome, however please note we have limited parking (4 vehicles max) and no room for any type of trailer. You will have to find parking for your trailers.

Base rate is for 8 guests. The vrbo payment system automatically adds additional fees when more than 8 guests (adults and children) are entered. If you are not sure how many guests will be on the property, they can be added on just prior to arrival.

Waterfalls, lighthouses, and Pictured Rocks.

A nicely appointed home, in a great location, convenient for exploring all the beauty the area has to offer. We visited all the local shops in Munising, saw many waterfalls, lighthouses, and the Pictured Rocks, visited Marquette, Tahqhamenon Falls, and picked up rocks at Christmas and Grand Marais beaches. A great time, snd hope to visit again in the future.

Great Property for Sisters’ Trip

We stayed here for our annual trip and it was perfect. Plenty of beds for everyone, wonderful linens and pillows, lots of space to hang out and play games. Excellent communication from the property owner. Walking distance to the boat cruise and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful renovated historic home!

So many things we loved about this home! The location, amenities, well equipped kitchen, cleanliness, spacious.... We will definitely choose this property next time we visit the area!

Great home/location

We had a lovely stay for a long weekend getaway. The house was well furnished and cozy. Great location- close enough for day trips to see Pictured Rocks and waterfalls. Good communication with host.

Very clean and beautiful house! Our family and friends enjoyed it!

Very clean and beautiful house with everything you need in a house. The location is right next to pictured rocks and great beaches and hiking places. There is an awesome smoked fish place right by the lake, like 4 min drive. The reason I gave 4 stars for location is because the houses next to you are a bit too close then we expected, but neighbors were great and quite!

Awesome place and host

This property is at the very right location if you want to take the pictures lakes cruise. Do also try the fish at fish basket, it’s very fresh and tasty. The owner was nice. Didn’t have any problem with the house. The property is as good as it’s description suggests and is more beautiful from the inside. Very nice experience.

Owner constantly text, email and treats you like a child

The property is a great property great location everything was clean. The only thing that they didn’t have was enough pots and pans The owner did send two skillets over on one of her million texts. One of the most negative part was the owner consistently text, and emailed you. my opinion treat you like a child I was looking for a vacation where I wouldn’t be constantly on my phone responding to people and because the owner wouldn’t stop texting felt like that’s what just happened. Also the house sleeps 12 but there’s a different fee to have more than 8 in the house.

Clean and spacious

This house was perfect for our family of 10. There was plenty of room and everything was clean. They do not supply soap & shampoo for the showers (we stayed at multiple rentals on this trip and this was the only one that didn’t). Basically plan to bring everything you might need. The communication/paperwork before our stay was a little excessive but they left us alone for the duration of the stay (so don’t let that scare you). All in all great place and I highly recommend it, if staying in Munising.

More than we expected

The rooms and living areas were larger than we expected. The convenience of downtown made driving unnecessary. The inside was spotless and the view from the windows made it comfortable and relaxing.

Great stay!

Large house with enough space for our group of 11. Ranging from age 4 to 60. Everything was clean upon arrival and the directions for the house were easy to understand. We loved cooking in the kitchen and eating our meals together at the big table. Close to lots of other destinations. Only complaint would be the grill is a bit rusty so we were not comfortable using it. The host was easy to get ahold of. Would stay again if I came to the area again.

Christmas 2024

We stayed at Doc's house during the Christmas holidays to be close to family and friends. It worked out great. Plenty of space with the open kitchen/dining room and adjacent living room. The 4 upstairs bedrooms are roomy with closets. Full baths on both levels. Clean, comfortable, in-town location. Would stay again. Highly recommend.

Perfect location for UP adventures

Wonderful and clean home in a perfect spot for exploring Munising, the pictured rocks, and the Lake Superior shoreline. Spacious home had everything we needed, and is within walking distance of lots of attractions. We had a great week in late summer here!

Annual Family Trip

This was our 4th summer trip up to Munising. We love the area and exploring. This summer we stayed in Doc’s place and had an amazing experience. Plenty of space, well stocked bathrooms and kitchen. We had two children with us and they had space to play. We loved DQ across the street and visited every evening!

Great location, great property

Located in the heart of downtown Munising Doc’s place is walkable to just about any restaurant in Munising as well as Lake Superior and the town Dock. Loved the house it is very clean and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was in good condition. We would definitely stay at Doc’s place again!

Great place

My family of 6 had a great time in this beautiful home in Munising. It is very roomy, with a huge table for dinner and games and plenty of seating in the living room/sun room. It is walking distance to the Pictured Rock boat tours and downtown Munising. It's very close to trails and waterfalls. We enjoyed 2 fires in the firepit and made lots of great memories. I highly recommend this home.
