Charming vacation rental, ideal for visiting Chambord, Cheverny, and Beauval—2 air-conditioned bedrooms

"Merveilleuse maison de campagne, entourée des bois de Sologne et à proximité de bien des lieux magiques. Nous avons en particulier fait usage de la table de ping-pong, du confort du lieu (bonne literie, cuisine bien équipée, documentation sur la région, salon agréable, terrasse, vue sur les bois et le gibier à la tombée de la nuit). Repos et visites culturelles pour ce qui nous concernait, mais des sorties sportives sont également possibles. La région est non seulement exceptionnelle (les plus beaux châteaux de la Loire), mais on y trouve tout (boulangeries, restaurants, supermarchés, lieux de baignade, etc.). Un immense merci à Marie-Claude pour son accueil si chaleureux!"

"My teen daughter loved our stay at Borde and me - a little less so. She was enchanted to stay in a chateaux and loved the grounds, animals, pools, grand decor etc. This is the place to stay for anyone who would enjoy the immersive experience. I found our room to be more rustic than expected. The floors have not been refurbished (ie they are original old and crumbly and I’m sure impossible to clean) and my feet were filthy the entire stay. They do provide slippers, which was very helpful. But we’d walk around the room and then go into the bathroom and immediately the beautiful white bathroom floor was covered in dirt. Breakfast was great one morning when we arrived at 8am and a gong show the morning we arrived at 9:30. Definitely go early to breakfast or they run out of food and dishes and do not replenish it as it closer to 10am closing time. Borde isn’t very close to other restaurants so we ate at the restaurant onsite 2 nights in a row. First night was fine, second was not good and very expensive. Spa pool was lovely. We also spent some time at the family pool which is tucked away by itself and not close to bathrooms or extra towels. Not super well thought out in terms of convenience for young families. Other notes: air conditioning worked very well, wifi was strong, bed very comfortable. Also the staff at reception were very friendly and helpful."

"As it happened it was the hottest day ever in France when we stayed and the air conditioning was excellent. Excellent mattresses. Very close to the motorway but we didn't hear any noise from it in the room. No restaurant in the hotel but a very short walk to an Italian restaurant which was fine. All in all I can see us staying at this hotel again."

"Lovely boutique chateau hotel in beautiful location. Friendly staff. Only criticism would be that the restaurant was closed two evenings during our stay (Sunday and Monday) and there were few staff around (occupancy was very low when we were there)"

"Appartement propre et agréable, jardin vraiment et espace pour manger dehors très sympathique notamment avec de jeunes enfants.Chambres bien aménagées, sanitaires très bien, mais cuisine et salle à manger trop petites pour 4 adultes et 2 enfants.La chaleur était accablante et le spa comme la piscine aurait été bienvenus!Séjour à refaire , vraiment près de Beauval."
