Not really 5 star hotel

We had a very bad experience in this hotel. At 2:30 am someone started knocking at our door at least 3 times. I woke up and when I opened the door, there was the bell boy bringing a suitcase that was not ours. After he noticed he got the wrong room, he apologized and left. It was almost impossible for us to get back to sleep and we felt tired all day long. It is unbelievable that a "5 star" hotel has this type of mistakes. Also, when checking out, we got a different rate than what was initially booked in Hotels.com, we were running late for our flight so we just paid and left. Will never stay at any of their hotels again. Terrible experience

Great Staff but hotel needs renovations

The staff is helpful and friendly and really made our stay. The hotel needs a facelift though and really doesn’t live up to its five star rating. If it weren’t for the staff, we wouldn’t go back.

This hotel is a classic and, as such, a bit dated but not in a bad way. Always clean. You can’t beat the location in CBD. The staff and service are absolutely the best. The high security at the front gate is a bit jarring, but necessary now a days.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the downside was the restaurant. The staff was incredibly slow and the food was sub par. Breakfast was fine, but the two times we ate there for dinner was awful. The waitstaff would 40 min to bring water and the food took even longer.

The staff is attentive and kind, and I was consistently impressed by the size of the team. Between hotel staff and security, there were team members everywhere. The room was well appointed, and the WiFi was stable enough to have FaceTime audio calls that were not marred by technical problems. Higher bandwidth platforms with video were a little dicey, but still workable. The only aspect of the hotel that I would have liked to see improved is the physical plant. The hotel is showing its age a bit. One can see wear and tear with a bit more than a passing glance. Such items are not mission critical though. Did the condition of the physical lobby bar mean the staff couldn't serve drinks or food, not at all. However, if the hotel wishes to maintain its five star standing, a little attention to some of it structures would help. Overall, it's a very nice property, a good room, and great staff.

Professional and friendly staff!

Fantastic service from all staff, throughout the hotel. Genuinely welcoming - making the entire Nairobi experience positive. It feels very safe and secure. Rooms are large and well furnished and food offering is good. Could do more to reduce single use plastic in the bathrooms though!

It is an excellent international 5 stars hotel although it is 50years old. The management is top class. The breakfast is very delicious and many options! It is also close to the national park! Nice stay as a whole!

The staff were particularly welcoming. Evelyn at the front desk did an outstanding job and so did Michael with Room Service delivery. I felt very welcome from the moment I walked in. Because of a previous complication with a reservation due to Expedia’s interface, I was not sure how things would go. I picked this hotel because it was international class, had late night check-in, which surprisingly is not common across the board at top Nairobi hotels, it had a very nice pool and is also in the city center, so it is easy to walk about the city.
