"This is a beautiful property but I do not recommend booking through Expedia or any third party websites. Customers who book directly from their website get first dibs on booking.
The check in process took almost two hours because they overbooked and the only room they had available was a king bed for four adults. They tried calling nearby hotels but according to the Meritage staff the hotels were booked. However, when I called the other properties there had rooms available. That’s when Meritage miraculously had a two queen available.
Also shuttle services to downtown Napa is advertised but the driver is not always there so you will have to take an uber.
We asked for water and the staff said there is water in the room, when we didn’t even have a room.
This was highly disappointing, we came to celebrate my sister’s birthday but spent the afternoon in the lobby.
I would’ve understood if the hotel communicated that they overbooked even an hour before we arrived to Napa but even there were no such texts/emails."
