"The lobby is very cute. I think half of the hotel is remodeled but the side we stayed on was not. It was not very clean and no one cleaned the room during our two night stay. There were cobwebs and pealing paint in the bathroom and the carpet has seen better days. The sheets also had stains on them. The pool and hot tub looked nice. The breakfast was nice and the area for breakfast was very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. A bit overpriced for the state of the room."

"I will say that when we first arrived, we had some concerns. Specifically, the house sits on a steep grade, and the parking situation was a little non-standard, parking behind the lot at the end of dead-end street. The walkway to/from the parking required you to pay attention, combined with the neighbors dogs in the window barking the whole time, we were wondering if we were going to be OK here. Then we walked in and the place really was super nice. Well decorated, and well supplied. We had everything we needed for a great weekend stay. The longer we were there, the more we were liking it. For the sake of more seasoned travelers-note that the bedroom is on second floor, and the steps are rather steep. We live in a colonial, so I am up and down steps all the time without a second thought at home, and these ones made me pay attention. My wife has some knee issues and she reported her knees hurting a bit due to the steps. Having said this, we both agreed we would gladly come back here again. The host is great. The property really has been well stocked and well decorated to let you have a great stay. We stayed in 6 different places during our tour of the UP. This is the ONLY one where the TP was two-ply. It's a little thing, but it showcases the host's going above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcome in this property.Having our coffee on the front porch in the mornings in the sun simply nailed if for us. Highly recommend!"

"This is a nice hotel. The waitstaff was helpful, the rooms were clean. The hotel even had a "new" smell. The breakfast was acceptable: eggs, potatoes, coffee, waffles...the typical stuff you'd get with a continental breakfast. I will say that I was impressed with how quickly the hot water came on in the bathroom. Both in the shower and the sink. I would stay here again."
