The Britomart is a great place for a short stay but not for an extended visit. The hotel is perfectly placed in the CBD, close to the cruise terminal and ferries, which is why we booked it. The immediate impression of the property and its rooms is excellent, but as you live there, it starts to irritate you. It is little things like the lack of coat hooks for outdoor stuff, that will get wet in Auckland. The lack of draws or shelves for your smalls The pocket door to the bathroom. But most of all the computer controlled lighting, which after 6 nights I still could not work properly. Why do we need dimmable lights in a bathroom? Just give me a switch. We did not eat in the hotel and only used the bar once. The restaurant seems to cater for the rich kids in finance to eat after work and thats not my scene. In all a good hotel and would be perfect with a few tweaks.

This is my second time here and it’s been another great stay. Very close to grocery stores, 10 minutes walk to sky tower and 20 minutes walk to the university of Auckland health and medical sciences faculty which was the main reason for visit. I understand laundry is done every 3 days but just a suggestion if housekeeping could still visit rooms to replenish small items. Instead of requesting for room service at the front desk everyday for basic tea n coffee stuffs especially for long duration stays.
