This property has all the amenities available, and is also very conveniently located. But, definitely the bellhops are the best, especially "Coach". They helped in so many ways - getting us quickly unloaded and loaded, help with the elevators and doors, and good advise about things to do and see in the area.
1514 was really nice. Beds were comfy. Nicely decorated and sweet views. Close to everything.
Very easy check in. We were informed about everything. Had to laundry in the building. But no biggie. Not a ton of room to put groceries or our clothes for the week. But ultimately it was very nice. Door guys, bartenders, staff was super friendly. Recommend staying here for sure

Very nice room when we FINALLY got in
This property is through Thomas Realty. I was told multiple times that we would be notified as soon as the room was ready. NO ONE EVER CONTACTED US. We finally just went to the room and tried the keys at 7pm! The room is very nice and we enjoyed Avista, will probably just book through the hotel next year!
The property was nice and location was great. Could use a few updates. Paint was peeling off of some doors and the tub was very hard to step into for a short person like me. Room was clean, but sheets on bed were inside out, so they didn’t stay on very well and we ended up having to take them off and change them. It was kind of a nuisance to have to go to the realty to check in and then go to the hotel lobby to basically check in again to get keys, parking pass, etc. Overall good experience, would recommend and use again.
The property was clean and ready when we arrived early. Upon entering the room was clean. After taking down the Murphey bed and couch bed we noticed considerable dirt and trash. Overall the room was clean, but it does need a good deep clean behind furniture and under/behind beds. They provide towels and liens but you are responsible for washing your own towels. There is an onsite laundry room just something to keep in mind. We have stayed at the avista going on 8 years. I will say this time the pool and pool areas were dirty and the pool had a lot of bugs. Also, halls were not as clean as they used to be and there was a horrible smell for 2 days on the ground floor elevators. Also, the only way to get a spot by the pool is to go out early and put down your towels. This used to not be allowed. I asked a manager and its basically a rule they dont enforce. We had been there 5 days and never got a seat by the pool at the time i asked about it. Overall it was a good stay and i would book here again.

Nice room…not crazy about the resort
First off the room was clean and well stocked for making breakfast or lunch. We always eat dinner somewhere out. Check in is nuts first of all you have to go to Thomas Vacations to check in and all they do after you wait in line is give you a paper with your reservation numbers, which I already have. Then you have to go to the resort, try to find a place to park in the bottom to unload and then stand in line again to check in and get room keys and pool bracelets which nobody wears. The thing that I found totally disgusting was the pool area. There are two small outdoor pools, a kids fountain pool and lazy River plus an indoor pool. When I asked about restrooms I found out you have to get in the elevator and go up a floor or two to find the bathroom. I sat there my first day and watched….no children and very few adults actually left the pool area unless they were packing up. Avista is more or less inviting people to pee in their pool. Both outdoor pools were cloudy every day. Needless to say, but we spent time on the beach and other area pools because they don’t check either. Our front room TV didn’t work all week, it turned on but would get no picture. My wife called the front desk on two separate days and they said they would send someone but nobody showed. I called the second day was told that we rented our unit from a third party so they wouldn’t fix the TV. I called Thomas Vacations, was told it was too close to quitting time to send someone. Guy next day never fixed it
After renting you find out you have to purchase bed linens, or bring your own. Plan on bringing everything if you plan to cook and eat in. There was pots and pans but very minimal. Only 1 good knife. The bed was so hard I couldn't sleep in it.

Beautiful Views. Lacking privacy
This place has a beautiful wrap around balcony. With the location being on the 15th foot, you can see a wide range of Myrtle beach. However, I did have a few issues. The bathtub was broken so I could not give my daughter a bath. This was not a huge deal due to the shower being functional. The 2nd day of our visit, we had multiple people wanting to come into the unit. One man said he wanted to check for bugs. We did not allow him inside. The maintenance man came directly into our unit and did not knock. I was in the shower and my husband found the man in the unit trying to get into the bathroom. He said he was told that no one was renting the unit and he was trying to fix the bathtub. My husband told him I was in the shower and to come back later. The man insisted he had to look at it today. I rushed out of the shower and went into the bedroom to get ready. The man spent 30 seconds looking at the broken knob and said he would need to call a plumber. He then said he needed to go into the bedroom to fix a broken mirror. There was no broken mirror in the bedroom. We did not allow him. My husband asked him to leave. The man left and said he would come back on Sunday once we left. There isn’t a direct person to contact for their property if issues arise. You have to call a call center and talk to a random person that has to research your unit. There is noting supplied at the unit. You will need to bring paper towels, toilet paper, soap, a bath mat, dish soap, a sponge, and all linens including a bath Mat. The parking garage is very small. I would recommend not driving a large vehicle.
