Force on 5th Avenue Hotel

"This place is beautifully maintained, clean and has a great location. We were on the 5th floor with full front window views of magnificent Lake Superior and the whole harbor area, an easy walk to Amsoil Arena, which was our goal for the weekend. It was especially nice to have a 2BR/bath suite for each couple. The place has a small kitchenette....small complaints are that they did not have enough coffee K-cups for all in the mornings and there was no toaster. We were, however, able to get extra K-cups from the main office, but had to collect them ourselves. Otherwise the front desk was very helpful. There is an extra charge for parking, but they will include it in your hotel bill. It's not "on-site", but easily accessed across Michigan Ave and is covered, which is extremely important to have in the Duluth area. The price was very reasonable for it's location, convenience and amenities. We would definitely stay again! Well done!"

"This is a clean, safe place to stay on Superior St in the HART district, but there's nothing remotely romantic about it. Enter your code on a keypad to get in the lobby by the dental office, then take the elevator up and enter your code again on the room door. Our suite had lake views (over the freeway, of course), and there were separate bedroom and living areas. Furnishings were fairly Spartan but serviceable and generally in good condition. The bedroom was just large enough to accommodate the queen size bed; the chairs and closet are in the living area. I found the bed mushy and pillows skimpy. There's a hide-a-bed in the living area which we did not use. The bathroom was fine, with a good shower and multiple towel rods, which is not always the case these days, and the towels were good quality. The location is fine, with numerous shops and restaurants nearby, including the wonderful Duluth's Best Bread, and walking distance to the Lake Walk and Park Point. Street parking is available and free on nights and weekends, but lots of spaces had restrictions so read the signs carefully. You can park at the hotel for $25/day, or at the nearby hospital ramp for less. While there is no staff on site, we received quick and courteous responses to our texts. In sum, this place is fine if you just want a clean and safe place to stay, but it lacks ambiance if that's what you're looking for."

"We were pleased overall. The room was nice and good size. We had a king lakeview with sofa and balcony. The balcony had 2 good chairs and an odd table that we finally figured out how to use. Great view of the ship canal and Lakewalk. Bed was comfortable, shower was nice - separate instead of being in a tub. The staff was helpful and we enjoyed the warm rooftop soaking pool. We didn’t use the indoor pool. We also thought the nightly s’mores and fire pit were pretty fun. Great location. The breakfast was marginally ok. It needed refills and supervision. We enjoyed our stay would choose the Inn on Lake Superior again."
