"This is an excellent choice for seeing Saumur. It is in an old building with a lot of character. My room was large, with wooden beamed ceiling, tall windows that opened, and a limestone fireplace I wish I had in my home. Ensuite had shower and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. "Probably my favorite hotel stay ever! So well located, wedged between the St Pierre Cathedral and the Chateau Saumur, near loads of restaurants and shops. After a stressful drive from Bordeaux, what a relief to be welcomed by this front desk, our car parked for us. And our room: what a surprise! So elegantly decorated and spacious! The most comfortable bed I’ve ever experienced in any hotel. Decor that reflects the character of the area, with lovely toiletries, a tub and double sinks (!). We felt as if we were staying with a stylish friend, rather than a hotel. Breakfast provided a wide range of options in a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Thanks for an awesome stay. I’ll gladly return next time I’m in the area!"

"Hotel is in an excellent location, handy to historical centre. We booked the room based on having air conditioning, which it had but it didn’t work. So room was too hot and impacted sleep. Room had no fridge. When we asked for an ice bucket to cool drinks this was reluctantly provided. Reception lady said we needed to buy drinks from bar rather than drink our own. When travelling on a budget this is our choice as to how we drink. On Saturday morning street sweeper and garbage trucks run early so it’s hard to sleep in. Wifi was good."

"Stayed one night. In my opinion, this property does not match the level of quality I usually associate with Best Western hotels in the US. The room felt outdated and could have been cleaner. The carpet was quite dirty, and the curtain was partially off the window when we arrived.. On the positive side, the room itself was spacious, there was plenty of street parking nearby, and the reception staff were very kind and welcoming."

"This was the perfect home for our multigenerational friend/family trip. Plenty of space to spread out, large rooms and bathrooms, the kids loved swimming in the warm pool every evening, and everyone enjoyed meals in the kitchen and garden. We appreciated how conveniently located the home was to everything and the views of the Chateau couldn’t be beat. Would book again without hesitation. "
