  • Modern house and very spacious. Open plan kitchen and lounge with leather chairs and two couches. Large bedrooms all with a views of the Mountains (Mt Cook) and Lake Ohau 3 bedrooms downstairs 1 Queen, 1 twin (queen and single), 3 single beds and one queen upstairs. There is a large deck at the rear of top storey. The house is built to make the most of the view of the mountains and lake. The house belongs to former owners of the Lodge and Ski field.

The house is simply spectacular exactly like in the photos. The location was amazing that our family spent one of our days just around the house and the lake. Our kids rated the house the best house they ever stayed in :). The host is super helpful and has kept the house very clean with all amenities required for a big family trip.

Paradise at Ōhau!

We've stayed in this house a number of times and we absolutely love it! The views are spectacular, the house is so spacious and comfortable, and the hosts are super easy to communicate with. We can't wait to stay again!

Perfect stay

This was the perfect house for our stay at Lake Ohau. We hiked, enjoyed the amazing view of the lake (complete with a rainbow one afternoon) and made a trip to Mt Cook. The house has all you need!

Brilliant house in stunning location

The house exceeded expectations! Views over the lake from the lounge area upstairs bedroom were stunning. The kitchen was a great place well equipped. Enjoyed coffee from new coffee machine. Would stay again!!

Outstanding lakeside gem

This home was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. From the second we arrived, we were captivated by the views. The home is very warm and incredibly quiet. We’ve never stayed at a home so well provisioned, and although it was a fantastic spot to head off sightseeing and for day trips around the region, we were equally happy just staying at the home. Whatever the season, this is the place to be. We wish we had been able to stay longer.

Alpine splendor…

Big beautiful house just across from Lake Ōhau Lodge - very very spacious and full of books and spotless kitchen and baths. At the end of the road above the lake with stunning views. Grant was absolutely marvelous - prompt confirmation, answers to questions, we absolutely enjoyed ourselves and I would be thrilled to return for a longer stay. Anything you’d want is nearby and Twizel has a fantastic Thai restaurant with cheerful staff and great food. So nugh about this place is hands down great.

A peice of paradise

We love Lake Ohāu and always head back often, usually staying at the lodge, but this time we stayed at Grants place, and it did not disappoint!! A beautiful home with incredible lake and mountain views, comfy rooms, with everything you need and more. A new spa had been put in just before our arrival, although we did not get to test it out. Very roomy, large kitchen, toys, books, ping pong, bikes, its all there! A great place for any time of the year! Thank you so much for having us!!

Home away from Home - views, mountain bikes & bathrobes

We loved the house and the location. Fabulous lake views. The house was immaculately clean and set up with attention to detail - mountain bikes and bathrobes!! It was a great base for Mt Cook National Park and biking around the lake.Organise your groceries in advance because there are no stores nearby.We had stellar weather so had to open the top windows in the lounge for airflow. The air conditioner works well too.Grant was an excellent host. Great communications.Highly recommend. Great for larger groups too.We would stay again:)
