Lake Cabin with Fantastic View--Kayak, Swim or Fish
"Overall the Cabin was nice and the photos are accurate. We would stay there again. That said, I think there are a few things people sure be aware of before booking. First, is that if you are looking for a house on a lake where your kids can swim all day, this is not the place for you. The lake was created via a Dam and the water is very low. The "Shoreline" is a concrete ledge and the area from that ledge to where the water actually starts in full of concrete and weeds and all sorts of things really make you wonder what is underneath the water. You could maybe swim off the end of the dock and not have to worry about touching anything on the bottom but the water is so low I don't think you could get back up on to the dock again. We did not feel safe swimming there. However, it was just a short drive from Lake Sylva Recreation area which I highly recommend. Also, if your child is deathly afraid of dogs or bugs I would recommend you look elsewhere. The inside was great but nature is nature outside and the front door always had a few daddy longlegs, spiders, and 1 very interesting praying mantis that made entry and exit tricky. In addition there were 2 dogs that came down to see us each night when we were having a fire. No clue where they came from and they were well behaved good boys who went back home the minute we started putting the fire out, just and FYI for anyone who might not be so happy to see a furry friend. Still overall a good stay."

"The room was clean and everything was great. but there was a slightly musty smell likely due to dust inside the AC unit.Althought the filter was clean. It seems the condenser unit needs to be cleaned at least once a year."

"Check in was easy as usual. The place was clean. We really enjoyed being able to have a king size bed. The linens were clean and seemed fairly plush. The jetted tub was nice after spending a long day at ATU family day standing around and then sitting on the hard bleachers. The breakfast hot and ready."

"Great experience! We love it here! It isa cabin behind the motel, wooden fenced in yard, firepit, a smoker, charcoal grill, and a gas grill outside( very well cleaned). Very cozy and spacious inside, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen has everything we needed. The staff is very polite and friendly. The pool has nice cool water and is well kept. Not to mention many hiking trials, boat rentals, and everything Mount Petit Jean has to offer, nearby. Oh and not to mention, very budget friendly!"
