Glide silently above the dramatic Mackenzie Basin in a glider flight, where thermal currents create perfect soaring conditions. Clay cliffs near town offer otherworldly hiking trails, while Lake Benmore beckons with salmon fishing and kayaking adventures.
Safe and good location for where we wanted to explore the area around Cook mountain. A very small town. Room are large with usable balcony. Overall, a very good place to stay.

What a great place to stay. It’s been overhauled in the last couple of years so everything is pretty new. Someone put a lot of thought into what to put into each unit. Very spacious. Very clean. Great staff!

We stayed 2 nights but only had 24 hours of WiFi. The office was closed when I went to ask for the next 24 hours. I had work to do and could not do it. There should be a way to have WiFi for the entire stay.

A truly magical setting with service to match. We’ve stayed in many New Zealand hotels, and this was the first where the staff seemed truly focused on exceeding guests’ expectations. With no television, we had only conversation (mostly about the food!) and stars to keep us entertained, but seeing every constellation imaginable is an...

Huge property. Shared a two bed dorm which was great (not the expected 6 or 8 bed dorm). Facility is a little older but staff is nice and location is good for Tekapo and Mt. Cook Trips. Very affordable as well.

Older property so was initially worried about the bed but it was surprisingly comfortable and there was a heated mattress pad!
The bar/restaurant was busy with a good vibe and the fish and chips was excellent with a light tempura coating and perfectly cooked! The berry crumble for dessert was light and delicious. The staff was excellent, friendly, attentive.
