Beautiful resort with a relaxing, Hawaiian vibe. The friendly, helpful staff were always polite and welcoming. Their breakfast buffet offered much variety and we were not tired with it even by the third day. This is a very well kept, clean resort that we hope to return to one day soon.
Large Hotel with wonderful rooms. Food options and evening entertainment/bars we felt as a bit limited for the size of the hotel.
Great pool area, beach was more on the disappointing side
They were beyond helpful with providing gluten free and dairy free/ allergy awareness with the menu and the cuisine. All of the food was fantastic and top notch. The staff was the sweetest we have ever encountered. I will definitely be back.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Location is great, easy access to nago and onna area. Good options of breakfast, staff are all professional, room is clean, bed is comfy.
The true downside is the hotel is not equip with dark drapes, you get wake up by the sunlight super early and the lightening just flash the whole night.
The room was incredible. Staff was phenomenal and always helpful. Breakfast buffet was a little pricey for the food, but besides that, everything was better than expected.
We loved every moment of our stay and the staff made our honeymoon feel extra special. The resort is clean and beautiful with lush grounds and relaxing pools. Very much appreciated the two adults pool areas with drink/food service (although the prices are unnecessarily expensive). Breakfast buffet is extensive, however we preferred the quiet atmosphere of Shiroux for the set western breakfast menu. The room was very spacious with beautiful decor and stunning views. Would definitely stay if visiting Okinawa again.
Our all time favourite hotel
The rooms were spacious with very comfortable beds, clean and soft bedsheets and towels without the usual bleach smell you may smell in hotel towels / sheets. The attention to detail is applaudable.
Don’t miss the buffet breakfast too, the spread and quality is one of the best around.
It’s my 5th stay already and i still can’t wait to be back again.
Everything great and perfect, satisfied all. Facilities and amenities are high end. All staffs are professional and very kindness. Strongly recommend Halekulani.
Lots of children here but adult pools available. Not an ideal couples retreat. But the facilities and staff handle it well and we were not inconvenienced. Sunset wing seems quieter than beach wing. Huge property was enjoyable to walk and nearby roadside and seaside paths offer miles of jogging/ walking/biking. Food was wonderful. Staff was 10/10 although they are sticklers for “officially” checking out rather than just charging your card.
Service towards customer was excellent. I really appreciate for Ide in sunset wing front for every support while we were in Ohana. Arigato.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
All of the staff were friendly, and the facilities felt bright and welcoming. I was very satisfied with everything—the spacious room, the balcony, and the ocean view. The quality of the breakfast was also quite good. It was a pity that the outdoor swimming pool was not in operation, but I would like to visit again during the summer season.
We stayed at Halekulani Okinawa for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The property is absolutely beautiful, impeccably maintained, and truly lives up to its five-star reputation.
One thing to note is that the spa was fully booked during our stay. Access to the natural hot springs is through the spa, so if you plan to use those facilities, I strongly recommend making reservations well in advance.
The resort offers four on-site restaurants, which provided excellent dining variety throughout our stay. The only drawback was that while most restaurants were able to accommodate a gluten sensitivity, the Japanese restaurant was unable to do so.
We visited in early June, and unfortunately the weather was not very cooperative. Based on our experience, I would suggest visiting later in June for a better chance of enjoying the outdoor amenities.
Overall, the property was outstanding, the service was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A true five-star resort that we would happily recommend.
This resort was phenomenal. The attention to detail was really amazing. The staff was incredibly helpful. They had great things for kids (mine just wanted to stay in the orchid pool all day) but lots of adult only things as well so I feel like everyone would like this report. They honestly did so well with our kids. I am used to the US thoug, where people don't seem to like kids much. The amenities were top notch.
We only got pool snacks there and had dinner one night at Room without a key so I can't speak to the other restaurants there. Our kids would have made the dining experience not as nice so we opted out. But dinner was really good the night we had it. We did go to the Spectra bar once for sunset and I had the best martini I've had in my life. (The Kokushu martini)
After being in Japan for two weeks trekking from city to city, it was really nice to recharge here before heading home.
I recently stayed at Halekulani Okinawa for my birthday, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The room was spacious with a terrace and ocean view, and I was able to fully relax and enjoy their pools and the peaceful resort atmosphere.
The food and beverage program was exceptional. I enjoyed a wonderful kaiseki dinner at Aomi, creative cocktails at Sunset Bar Spectra, and at House Without A Key the green salad with Okinawan sea grapes and the Halekulani Okinawa original soufflé pancakes were both outstanding. Above all, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff left a deep impression on me. I especially moved by the handwritten note from a bartender I had the chance to speak with at Sunset Bar Spectra.
This was my first visit to Okinawa, and it became not only an unforgettable first Okinawa experience but also the most enjoyable birthday I have ever had. I will gladly recommend Halekulani Okinawa to my friends and family, and I very much look forward to staying here again on my next trip to Okinawa!
Our stay at Halekulani Okinawa was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff proved to be the most attentive and responsive team we’ve ever experienced. They anticipate your needs before you even realize them, creating a true luxury experience where you’re never left wanting for anything.
Every meal was outstanding—truly 10/10. The quality, presentation, and flavor made each dining experience memorable, and it was clear that incredible care goes into every detail.
The rooms were impeccable—spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Turn-down service and in-room dining were standout highlights that elevated our stay even further.
We also absolutely loved the quiet infinity pool—it was so serene, we could have spent the entire day there without hesitation.
We had seen a few reviews mentioning concerns about the hotel handling its level of business, but we experienced none of that. Everything felt seamless, thoughtful, and perfectly executed.
This was a phenomenal stay, and the team’s hard work truly shows in how valued and cared for we felt as guests. We cannot recommend Halekulani enough and would return in a heartbeat.
Overall the hotel is nice, good location, very clean etc. But for this price level I would expect a different level of offering. Everything is crazy overpriced. Charging extra on cabanas (by 3hrs) crazy amounts for 1hr water activities and the bar prices. I'd recommend to have a real room pricing and a more relevant pricing for the other amenities to not look like a rip-off. And then going around giving people single prices of mango for free...not a real service.
Also the opening hours of the pool are 9-18h, which is ridiculously short for this hotel and especially when you can't go into the sea (because of dangerous animals) I got asked to leave the pool at 8:55 in the morning. I get that the staff has to do its job, but the management missed out with this one.
Also having a breakfast queue that takes more than an hour (considering breakfast cost 6500JPY) does not speak for a professional good managed hotel.
So again everything looks good, but the services are under my expectations and experiences in other resorts.
Halekulani Okinawa exceeded every expectation and was easily the most luxurious resort we experienced during our time in Japan. Traveling as a family of four, we chose to splurge on two rooms in the Sunset Beach Tower, and it was absolutely worth it.
The rooms were stunning, thoughtfully designed, and fully equipped with premium amenities. From the stocked minibar and Nespresso machine to the beach bag and sandals you can take home, every detail felt elevated. The inclusion of comfortable pajamas added an extra layer of comfort. Housekeeping was exceptional with daily service and a relaxing evening turndown.
Service across the entire resort was outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help, creating a welcoming and seamless experience throughout our stay.
Dining was a highlight. We enjoyed dinners at House Without a Key, which offered a perfect casual setting with great seafood, pasta, and salads, and Steak & Wine for a more upscale experience. The quality of food was excellent across the board. Steak & Wine is on the pricier side, but the experience and quality matched the cost. Be sure to book reservations in advance as slots open daily and fill quickly.
We chose to explore local cafés for breakfast, which was a great way to experience the island. The resort is also conveniently located near several excellent dining options.
The gym was well-equipped, and the pool areas were beautiful and relaxing. 5 Stars all the way!!
The hotel itself is clean and updated. The rooms are spacious. It was a lot of families and young kids running around having fun. zero romance and not where I would go if it was just my husband and me. The staff is friendly, helpful and no shortage of towels. The breakfast Buffett was mediocre and very expensive for what was offered. There are other alternatives which were pricier. We ate at all the restaurants and they offered Shani Shani, pre selected meals (we had to do these a week ahead of arrival). No spontaneity there.
The gym was clean and staff attentive. The pools are warm and views are beautiful especially at sunset. BUT the ocean is not swimmable so it’s a long way to go and not really enjoy the ocean due to rip tides, sting rays and sea snakes. There are not a lot of activities going on so really just sitting at the adult pools. One adult pool by the kids pool had service and the other was scarce.
Again, if you’re looking for a fun place with young kids while checking out Japan, this is the spot.
This is an excellent hotel in Okinawa. Amazing staff, extremely polite and helpful. Plenty of activities for the family. Great buffet breakfast, must try.
You won't regret staying here
Absolutely stunning property. This was an oasis in Okinawa. From the moment you arrived, Halekulani delivered. Impeccable service, welcome drink, top notch food, nightly turn down service, room amenities, and items in the room you can use during the trip and keep (flip flops, beach bag). The bed is so comfortable and we had fantastic sleep. The shower head was rain style and had great pressure. The rooms had incredible sound proofing and beautiful views from the balconies. The pools were peaceful and the staff was very helpful in securing chairs for you. The swim up pool bar had fantastic drinks and the staff were super friendly. Really beautiful view everywhere around the resort. We hope we can return!
