Family Vacation

My two adult children and their families and my wife and I enjoyed this house. The seating and dining areas were adequate for 10 of us to enjoy ourselves without always being on top of each other. The only negative thing I would say is there really is no beach at this location; however, the surrounding beaches were beautiful.

Celebration

The location of this house is spectacular! Beautiful view of the Intercostal ! I was so excited to share this house with friends and family. There were several things that were not what I would have expected to encounter in a home of this stature. There were at least 3 chairs and a sofa that were badly soiled. Drawers in the kitchen were dirty with someone else’s crumbs. I have a dog and I know how important it is to pick up after her but upon my arrival, I was checking things out and noticed that a dog had been there previously. I picked up at least 15 bags ! Mike did credit me $50 for my efforts. The property manager was quick to react when we encountered a few problems. All in all this is a great place to stay but I suggest they find another cleaning service.

Beautiful waterfront oasis!

Beautiful home for a quiet extended family getaway on the water. Resort amenities, easy to keep clean, more than enough room for everyone. Michael was attentive and responsive and easy to work with on some last minute changes. You won’t be disappointed!!!

Family vacation

House is tucked off the main road. Very quiet neighborhood. Location is close to many attractions and beaches. Home has spectacular views of water and Casey Key. Faces west with beautiful sunsets. Our family of 12 ( 7adults and 5 children under 8) enjoyed fishing from the pier and swimming in the pool. Home is large enough that each family had their own wing. Owners were very helpful with any questions that came up. A wonderful time was had by all.

False advertisement

We booked this rental for the beach area that was the primary picture for the listing. However, you could not use the beach area or waterfront at all. I would not have paid the price of the house without the beach. Also, the room with the 2 queen beds is not a true bedroom. It is not private. You have to walk through that room to get to another room. And there was no door. Plus, there was a skylight in the room so once the sun came up, there was no sleep. The bathrooms didn’t have locks on the doors. There were not enough wash cloths for the entire group. The landscaping was out of control.

Very challenging host with a not well maintained house

There were many maintenance issues -- dirty kitchen drawers, beeping smoke detectors (yup, one woke us up at 5am), porch fans and lights that don’t work, etc. Those of us who used the pool received dozens of very itchy bites from no see ums (i.e., fleas). Beyond this, the host was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to work with. There’s a far, far more paperwork to secure this rental than most. When I had not responded the same day, I woke to a terse “second notice” email the next morning. With this host’s exacting standards about guest’s responsiveness, I was appalled by his lack of communication. I contacted him three days before our stay via the portal he directs guests to outside the vrbo system and via email. No response to either. On the day we arrived, we were left literally waiting outside in the heat for 1 hour 37 minutes past the check in time. In fairness to the host, he was traveling outside the country, and I understand that mistakes happen. However, it’s more than a mistake when you don’t respond communications over several days and leave guests waiting for nearly 2 hours. It's also more than a mistake when you fail to acknowledge the seriousness of the problem. The irony is rich that he required us to pay to check out 1 hour late when he offered NOTHING for leaving us waiting outside for nearly 2 hours.

Wow - Just Wow!!!

Back in January 2022, we booked a home on Venice Beach. Two days after making the final payment - at the end of May, the owner cancelled. We panicked. There were 12 of us slated to vacation together, including my son in the Air Force and others who had scheduled vacation time. This property came available at the last minute and we grabbed it. I'm so glad we did! The owner was wonderful in communicating and being available for questions that arose. While it was not "on the beach", it offers SO MANY wonderful amenities that we didn't miss the beach access at all. The house is laid out perfectly. On one side is the master suite with king bed, bathroom and outside shower (which everyone loved!). Separated by a huge dining room with a table for 10+, fully equipped kitchen (and I mean fully equipped - we cooked 3 times a day!), and a gorgeous comfortable living room, the rest of the house has 4 more bedrooms. There are two bedrooms in an alcove with a bathroom. Each bedroom has a queen bed and one has sliding door to the pool deck. Down the hall from the kitchen you'll find two desk areas and then what would be a den is now converted into a bedroom with two queen beds as well as a 1/2 bath. Beyond this is another king bedroom and full bathroom. There is a large garage offering two stand up paddleboards which we loved using.' The backyard is fully fenced and dog friendly. The dock encouraged us to fish late into the night and we caught and released all kinds of things. And the pool - we spent hours and hours at the pool. Either all day or after visiting the beach, having the pool was the best part. The family enjoyed the screened in lanai, with napping chairs and couches. Full size washer and dryer made it so easy because we were able to pack lightly. Beach towels, bath towels, incredibly comfortable beds and light weight linens made it so delicious to sleep at night. Ceiling fans in every room. Lots of unique outdoor areas. Very quiet at night, we slept like babies. Grocery stores, restaurants, dog park and dog beach all within a few minutes drive. Downtown Venice has quaint shops and even an "interactive fountain" for kids to splash and play. We are all excited to come back.

Great space for our family reunion

Our group ranged from 35 to 70 years old. Wr had othwr family members renting houses nearby and this house provided a comfortable setting for our family reunion and meeting place. The open floor plan made it an excellent venue to hang out and the back yard was beautiful. Everyone who stayed at the house had comfortable bedrooms.

Wonderful - a special place!

The home far exceeded our expectations and clearly has been cared for meticulously. Besides being an amazing site (sunsets - wow!), the home was so comfortable and large - big enough for 2 couples; 3 adult children and two teenagers. Thank you to our hosts who went out of their way to make this a very SPECIAL place for our family.

Family get together

We had 10 members attending my brother’s 70th birthday. The driveway entrance is shared with three other lots. At first a bit confusing locating our specific driveway. On arrival, the house was well landscaped and maintained. Our rental was a week after hurricane Ian. The property had been fairly well cleaned with little to show of the recent storm. The great room and master bathroom were quite large. The other three rooms were comfortably sized. The house was very clean and well equipped. The enclosed lanai was a great place for early morning or evening gatherings. We cooked in most nights and found the kitchen fairly well supplied. The house is just minutes from two food stores (Publix) and several restaurants. It took about 10-12 minutes to reach Nokomis Beach. We had a great time and we’re very pleased with the rental

Wonderful, roomy, family vaction home

This was a wonderful family vacation. It had everything we were looking for, waterfront, dock, pool, beaches, restaurants. We fished and paddle boarded. There were 2 inflatable paddle boards, however 1 was deflated, but my daughter brought hers. An outdoor grill would have been great, but we cooked in and ate out. Wonderful restaurants close by. Rosebuds, a steak house was outstanding, 2 minutes away! The only thing that was concerning was the property said it slept 12 people, we had 8 and added 2 and were charged extra. I guess I missed some fine print. However, it was worth every penny and would highly recommend this roomy , private vacation house. Loved it! Thank you very much!!!
