If you looking for a quiet family oriented place for 1-2 nights outside Kyoto with a Ryokan and privacy. This is the place. Bring lots of games and books, nice walks along the river. It is not a large hotel and it is not easy to get to. But the right circumstances make this a perfect experience.

Great little hotel. Very quiet and calm. Great showers. Lots of pastries and drinks, which solved the problem of breakfast, especially for us, as we woke up at 5 am most days. (We noticed that some guests filled up bags of croissants after checking out, which was really sad to see, as they just emptied out the box of pastries into a plastic bag and left other guests nothing.) there is a 7/11 and a metro line right next to it. And some nice restaurants around too.

I had a great stay at THE GATE Hotel in Kyoto! The property is modern, clean, and well-maintained. One of the highlights is definitely the top floor, where the reception and bar are locatedāit offers a stunning panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station and close to several local attractions, which made it easy to explore Kyoto. Overall, a comfortable and stylish place to stay. Iād definitely come back!

This hotel is fabulous. The rooms are stylish and the location could not be better. It is right next to a subway station and an easy trip from Kyoto station. The breakfast is tasty with many choices. The rooms are a little on the small side for Americans...we are from New York City so pretty typical for NYC standards. Would 100% stay here again. Five star for food, design, location, and service.
