This gently updated first floor condo in the Old Las Palmas section of historic Palm Springs is just steps away from all the popular uptown and downtown shops and restaurants. Park your car in the subterranean garage and enjoy this upscale neighborhood on foot! Villa de Las Palmas is a quiet, well maintained complex with a beautiful swimming pool and spa, surrounded by fruit trees and spectacular views of the San Jacinto Mountains. In a neighborhood known for its celebrity history, this unit was originally owned by Oscar nominated Hollywood art director Albert Earl Hedrick, most popularly known for his work on the TV series Bonanza.

Furnished with vintage and newer pieces, this 1,230 square foot unit features the original and beautifully tiled guest and master bathrooms. The original rock wall with gas fireplace in the living room adds a warmth and architectural interest. And the fully stocked kitchen has beautiful original wood cabinetry and upgraded appliances, as well as access to a breakfast table on the east balcony. The large front terrace is the perfect place for enjoying the beautiful sunsets.

The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, with east balcony access. And the den can function as an office or a second bedroom with a queen size Murphy bed with built in desk, and curtains for privacy from the main living area. Both bedrooms have HDTV’s and roomy closets. This unit is ground level, but does have a few steps up from the garage and up to the front door. No pets are allowed.

Just a half block off of Palm Canyon Drive, the prime location can’t be beat. It is steps away from the hippest new restaurants, shops and galleries getting all the latest buzz. Speaking of buzz, from here you can also ride the free BUZZ trolley service around Palm Springs - hitting 30 stops every 15 minutes from Smoketree Village in South PS to Via Escuela in North PS, every Thursday through Sunday.

This vacation home rents on a 30-night minimum basis. During the winter season, between December and April, you must begin on the first day of the month and end on the first day of the following month.

We would come back...

The location, development and design of the suite were excellent and as promised. However, we did note that the interior finishes and furnishings were starting to show wear and aging; definitely time for an interior refresh. We also weren't surprised at some acoustic interface with the upstairs suite given the age and original condition of the building. In summary, we appreciated the security of underground parking, the mountain views and the overall ambience of this property and neighborhood in general.
