## Emplacement
Paris's 2nd arrondissement is historically one of Europe's financial centers, home to the former Palais de la Bourse, now known as the Palais Brongniart. Other important activities in the district are journalism and fashion. The 2nd is also home to the famous Rue Sainte-Anne, known to Parisians as the haunt of Japanese restaurants and stores. Typically Parisian shopping arcades, such as the Passage Choiseul and the Passage des Panoramas, add to the district's charm. While the above are all daytime activities, the eastern end of the arrondissement, with its charming Rue Montorgueil, has an entirely different, more dynamic and youthful reputation thanks to its many cafés, restaurants and bars.
