This beautifully decorated home is nestled in 6 acres of towering red pine trees where wildlife and quiet abound. EXCELLENT location for snowmobilers/ATV, as we are located 1/2 mile from the snowmobile trails. Trailer in and RIDE OUT! This home has an open floor plan with a full kitchen/dining/living room with windows to view the outdoors, and a lower level family room. Master Bedroom /Mstr Bath with King Size Bed, King size Guest Bedroom and Queen Size Guest Bedroom share a Full Main Bath with a Jacuzzi Tub. Lower level has a Queen Size Sleeper Sofa with Full Bathroom. 4 Season Porch accomodates sleeping for 1.
2 Gas Fireplaces for those chilly mornings/evenings. Other features for the seasons... a 4 season porch, open balcony, walkout patio and a covered back porch with a porch swing for those morning cups of coffee and the afternoon cocktails. An open fire pit with stacked wood available for those evenings chatting around the campfire. Plus a two stall attached heated garage. Located 7 miles north of Park Rapids, Hwy 71/Co. Rd 40 and Hobby Road, and 10 miles from the south entrance to Itasca State Park. Within 1.5 miles of 3 lake accesses, Eagle, Island & Potato Lakes. 1.5 miles from Eagleview Golf Course and Character Challenger Course. Park Rapids, one of the top 50 most charming towns in the U.S., has many quaint shops, restaurants/coffee shops/backroad bar & grills, trails for snowmobiling and ATV, cross country skiing, biking, walking and many other vacation activities. We had a wonderful stay! The house was clean and spacious for our group. Hosts checked in with us through out the weekend to see if we needed anything. Kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. We all agreed we would return for future family gatherings. Thank you!

Very nice property

The house is extremely comfortable, with good-sized bedrooms, comfortable seating, and a well-stocked kitchen. The hosts are friendly and very responsive. The house is located in a wooded area close to Itasca State Park and Park Rapids -- a wonderful location. The only suggestion our group has was that the hosts remove the plug-in fragrances throughout the house before guests arrive since some people have fragrance sensitivities (we unplugged them and that took care of the issue). Otherwise, it was a wonderful property, location, and stay in the Minnesota woods!

Perfect Location for Itasca State Park

Larry and Barbara were perfect hosts for this home secluded in the woods just north of Park Rapids, MN. It’s their personal home and it is very well maintained. The bedrooms and living areas were very comfortable and created a great environment for family get-togethers. We used their pellet-fueled BBQ grill for dinner one night and enjoyed using their fire pit just outside by the driveway and the trees. It’s just a short 20 minute drive to Itasca State Park. They had a large screen TV in the bottom floor that was great for a family movie night. Highly recommend their home for a vacation!

Awesome Property Owners!

Barb and Larry are wonderful hosts! They have a very beautiful, clean, comfortable home. We had a group of six adults in Park Rapids for the Rodeo. The house was close to the rodeo grounds and so many other things to do in the area. I would highly recommend this home to anyone!

Better Than Expected!

I booked this home for an extended family vacation to Lake Itasca. I chose Larry and Barbara's because it seemed like the best place when compared to the other local choices. But I had no idea *how* great it would be until we checked in!! We had a marvelous time, and wished we could have spend more days in!! If you're looking for a quiet place with kind hosts, plenty of beautiful and tidy rooms, and a vacation to remember, pick this one!

SO RELAXING

We rented the property so we could hike/swim at Itasca State Park and bike the Heartland trail. The house is ideally located to make each activity a short car ride. The house is furnished beautifully and is spacious. Our group of eight adults had plenty of space to visit and cook. The 3 bedrooms and a full basement gave each couple plenty of privacy. The yard is beautifully landscaped and private. I would highly recommend the rental of this property.

Wonderful weekend gathering

A birthday celebration with family and friends. This rental was prefect. Large kitchen and counter where many can sit. Large bedrooms. A very nice four season porch where a bed is located. It was very comfortable sleeping out there, A fire pit with many chairs that the group loved. We golfed nearby at Eagle View golf course and spent an afternoon on nearby lake. Very pleasant weekend stat.

What a relaxing, comfortable home and yard. The owners are super friendly and responsive. They obviously care about their renters. Well maintained home and landscaping. Easy access although that does bring some highway noise. Quiet inside. Good water pressure, comfortable beds, well designed gathering areas, clean, well stocked. Highly recommend.

FOUR WHEELING TRIP

Beautiful location clean house we felt right at home.Checking in was easy. Right on the ATV trails.This trip had everything we wanted. It was nice relaxing on the porch after a days ride. Larry and Barbara you were very helpful on getting ATV conditions and made us all feel welcome. For sure a five star home. We will be back again soon.I would highly recommend this fantastic house.

Fishing in the Minnesota North Country

A secluded and serene hideaway. A great front and back yard but the rockers on the upper level front deck and the swing on the upper level back deck must be enjoyed. The sleeping area in the enclosed deck is a great place for the teenager. Enjoy your coffee on the high top counter while breakfast is being prepared. Your bedroom, any one of the three, will leave you rested and refreshed. Just a smile away.

quiet retreat

Nice, spacious home in a secluded area that was perfect for a family get together. Though not on a lake, there are many nearby. This home has all of the necessary kitchen appliances, utensils, etc. that you could possible want. There are porches on each side of the house so that shade is generally available on one side or the other. Highly recommended for any small gathering in search of a quiet retreat or for a jumping off point for those who want to explore the Park Rapids area.

Amazing home in the woods.

From the moment we drove on this property, we felt right at home. The house is in clearing that is totally surrounded by trees, giving you those 'up north' vibes. There is a very nice fire pit area to sit back and take in the beauty and enjoy a campfire. The house is spacious but yet has a cozy feel to it. Every nook and cranny is decorated with unique pieces. The bedrooms are roomy and the beds/bedding comfortable. An enclosed sunroom with an attached covered deck was a great way to start the day and have our coffee. The kitchen is well equipped if you plan on cooking. We only stayed over a weekend, and there are plenty of excellent eating places in the area. Most importantly, the house is super clean! Speaking of food, dining out is fabulous. Friday night we ate at Clancy's (a recommendation by our hosts, it's on quiet Island Lake), Saturday morning at the Logging Camp that serves a family-style breakfast of eggs, sausage or ham, hash browns and all you can eat pancakes. A short ride for dinner took us to the tiny town of Dorset to Cabaneros that serves authentic Mexican cuisine. Sunday morning we ate breakfast at West 40 in Park Rapids. Check out downtown Park Rapids. Lots of fun stores! It was a pleasure to meet Larry and Barbara. You don't find nicer or more sincere hosts! If you don't want the crowded space of a hotel room, this is the place for you. We loved this property and hope to stay there again--only next time for a longer period.
