An additional place to sit besides a bed would have been helpful. "We have been coming here for 16 years and love this property for its superior views of Avalon Bay. We used to stay here before the renovation and enjoyed the upgrades. The breakfast is high quality with an omelette and French toast bar included in the price of our stay. We were only puzzled by a couple things. First of all, the lack of an elevator to the 2nd and 3rd floor balcony suites is odd for a room you pay over $500 per night for. At least some sort of luggage assistance would be helpful. Secondly, we found the front desk staff to be a little cool in their reception. It felt a little as if we were imposing. Storing our luggage before check-in was also a bit of a challenge with no bellman on duty. We had to shove our bags into a narrow utility closet that proved to be challenging to get our stuff back out of. It just seems like the check in experience could use a little finesse. We loved the room with the ocean view and the gorgeous balcony. The breakfast staff were amazing. We will certainly consider staying here again in the future, although there are many options on this magical island."
