Welcome to Sunset Lane Cottage. This cozy space is the perfect Cape Breton Island retreat! We are on a beautiful half acre private property with boho-cottage beach decor. Are you into stunning nightly sunsets, private beach walks, relaxation around the fire pit, and delicious baked goods? We've got you covered! We are located off of the beautiful Cabot Trail for your convenience. If you are an ocean lover, you can either walk 3-5 minutes down a private path to your own beach, or drive 2 minutes up the road to Le Buttereau, which features stunning Highland Park views as you picnic, swim, play, stand-up-paddle or kayak in your salt + fresh water haven. Sunset Lane Cottage is located 0.5kms to Aucoin's Bakery, 3.9kms to the Highlands National Park, 2.9 kms to the Gypsum Mines, 2.5kms to Cheticamp, local restaurants, and Le Portage golf course, and 12 kms to the Skyline Trail. Lovely place to stay on the west coast of the island

Wonderful place to stay. Great location, very comfy and well appointed. We had a wonderful time spending 6 days using this as our home base while exploring all over the highlands park. Will definitely stay here again when we return to Cape Breton.return

Peaceful & Welcoming

First experience renting with Vrbo, and it was beyond our expectations. This cottage is beautiful and very well maintained. Location is perfect, very quiet area, it's close to bakery, (Aucoin) a must try, trails, stores and restaurants. Angela is an excellent host, we had enough supplies to last us for our 6 nights stay. We enjoyed our stay. Fire pit was a nice added bonus.

Cozy cottage

Staying at this cottage was a delightful experience! Clean, comfortable, lots of natural light, and quiet - yet close to town. Plus it’s a short walk to the ocean where we saw some beautiful sunsets. We would stay here again.

Wonderful dog friendly cottage to relax and explore the area

Beautiful place to stay while exploring the area. A short walk down a private trail leads to the beach. Property was very clean and well stocked for any traveler. It was the perfect place to come back to after a long day of hiking and fishing. We started and ended our days on the beach. Used the supplied lobster pot to cook lobsters on the deck. The clothesline was in use drying out our waders and rainy day clothes. Only wish our schedule allowed us to stay a little longer. Being within walking distance of an incredible bakery was a bonus!

Wonderful house for my husband and our fur babies!! Angela has provided everything you need for a great stay. Short walk to beach. Fabulous beach and lots of hiking trails in the area. Bakery close by that was amazing. Overall a wonderful stay!!

We did not know what to expect when we chose this property near Cheticamp. However, we were extremely satisfied with our accommodations. Having a washer and dryer was invaluable after having none for 5 days into our trip. Comfortable beds, very clean, and modern touches can be found at this home that's been renovated recently. Great place to stay right outside of Cheticamp as a home base for our hikes around Cape Breton. The walk to the beach was short and a nice bonus to the property.

Beautiful stay in Cheticamp

We loved this beautifully decorated, contemporary and comfortable place, which was a perfect base for hiking the eastern side of Cape Breton Highlands National Park - just a 5min drive to the visitor centre. The cottage is in a peaceful neighbourhood just a bit off the main road, and everything was very comfortable - lots of light, comfy beds, and a great couch and rocking chair for reading. Very well appointed kitchen where we enjoyed cooking dinners - it was so pleasant we weren’t even tempted to go out to eat. The place is beautifully decorated too, lots of nice attention to detail. Great communication with hosts as well. All around a wonderful stay!

The perfect getaway!

We had a wonderful visit in Cheticamp in this cozy cottage! The beachy decor was so settling and made the place feel like a home away from home. We took advantage of the walking path down to the beach where we caught the beautiful sunset setting over Cheticamp Island. This cottage had all the necessities you could possibly need to cook up your meals without worrying about not having the pots/pans and utensils. The owners went above and beyond to make sure their guests have everything they need to feel at home. We made use of the fire pit and bbq as well, it was incredibly relaxing being able to hear the ocean waves in the distance while we enjoyed a fire. We would absolutely stay here again in the future!

Great house in great location! Cabot trail access, Gypsum mine, Whale watching and Cheticamp has everything you need (grocery store, liquor store and restaurants). My teenagers loved the access to the beach and the wi-fi was great. The adults loved the quiet private deck for morning coffee and evening beverages. This house was the cherry on top of a wonderful family vacation. We have already recommended it to many family and friends.

We really enjoyed the cottage and were glad to find beach chairs and bug spray! There were lots of things to do, go to the beach, the coffee shop and art gallery, kayaking, hiking and whale tours.

Sweet Cabin

2 moms traveling with adult daughters found this cabin to be a wonderful place to stay that fit our needs perfectly. So close to Cape Breton Highlands National Park for hiking and wonderful restaurants nearby to try. We enjoyed our time here exploring the private beach and playing the games provided. Angela and her family were fantastic hosts!

Everything connected to the host (Angela) and her property was amazing. Everything connected with VRBO was terrible. Our inbox at vrbo had a several day delay so we did not have the code to enter the cottage when we arrived. We were remote, standing in the rain, with no way to get in and no where close to go to. When we called vrbo they seemed to pretend to not hear us and hung up on the first call. I said my name loudly and clearly several times and kept getting the reply “you’re breaking up” and repeatedly asking my name. We could hear them clearly. When we said “I hope this is being recorded he finally betrayed that he could in fact hear us clearly and finally gave us the code that Angela sent that wasn’t appearing in our vrbo inbox

Peaceful Stay
