Petworth House, a late 17th-century Grade I listed country house, rebuilt in 1688 by Charles Seymour, 6th Duke of Somerset, now owned by the National Trust.

Petworth Park and House are managed by the National Trust. The House contains a large fine art collection but admission to the park is free and has beautiful views over the South Downs. Go in by the north gated entrance on the A283 and see the wild deer.
