"The bedroom was clean and well equipped. I would have liked a comfortable chair to sit in rather than hard backed dining chairs however, this did not impact on my stay, only the ability to knit. We had dinner in the dining room, serviced by fantastic staff. The food was amazing, both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Breakfast was buffet style, we would have like fried eggs as opposed to scrambled and neither of us liked the sausages, otherwise enjoyable. We did not use the bar so can’t comment. The hotel location is beautiful, the grounds well maintained. We would consider using the hotel again in the future"

"2 night stay Perfect location just up the hill from the river and mother shiptons cave. Rooms clean and comfortable. Great opt out off room clean and free drinks a plus. Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Buffet breakfast nice but not everyone's taste. Good choice of menu, for lunch and dinner, food nice but could do with more flavour. We would definatley stay again."

I travelled on my own with my dog and would have been good to have been able to sit in the bar with him and have a drink, also a separate area for people with pets to dine with there dog would be great. I walked into Harrogate most nights to find Dog friendly places I could eat"

"The room was immaculate and the staff very attentive. The breakfast was amazing, with so much choice, and the bar was a lovely, relaxing area with very helpful bar staff. Our afternoon tea for two was delicious and very refined. We also loved the Agatha Christie connection to the hotel and it was lovely to see other guests dressed up in Agatha Christie era outfits. The things that were a slight negative were the lift, which was incredibly slow and there was a lack of plug sockets in the room..... and I'd forgotten to pack the multi plug extension I usually take! But all in all, we absolutely loved our stay."

"Old coaching in so plenty of character. Unfortunately this also meant no lift so a bit of a struggle to upstairs rooms with a heavy suitcase. Staff were all friendly and efficient and the included breakfast offered plenty of variety. I ate dinner in the bar lady night and the lamb was really excellent. There is parking but I’m not sure if there is space if every room is filled. There’s also a spa on site but I didn’t have time to try it."
