"Bad location, and the bar is bad"

"The room was modern and relatively nice. It was by far the warmest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, on a day that wasn’t overly warm outside. A stand alone aircon unit was provided but it was far too noisy to be able to sleep with. I was given the key to another guests room, who I walked in on asleep at 10.30pm much to his and my surprise. Another room organised relatively quickly but nobody was on site meaning they had to get someone down. Leaving at 7am the next day still nobody on site. No follow up calls or apologies as of writing this 3 days later"

"The first thing to comment on is how good the staff were. Helpful and friendly in every area. In other areas the experience was good but fell down slightly on detail. The room was cosy, but needed a bit of TLC. A bit of paint touching here and there. Dinner was good, but the sea bass was tiny and the lamb pie was parsimonious with the lamb. The sticky toffee pudding could have been warmer. The menu is not cheap. At breakfast ingredients were excellent but eggs cooked too long, tomatoes too little. "Front desk staff and restaurant were rather unfriendly and borderline rude. Room wasn’t very clean Expected more amenities in the room eg fridge Spa area was good but floors around pool very slippery and changing rooms floors soaking wet. More regular checking and cleaning. Pub and kitchen staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful Breakfast staff need better training with regards to hospitality etiquette and not handling cutlery and crockery where guests would be placing their mouths I was still eating breakfast and drinking my coffee and staff were trying to clear my plates and removed saucer whilst I was drinking my coffee "

"Had a really enjoyable stay at the Red Lion Hotel in Spalding. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and full of character, and the location right in the town centre was perfect. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, which made the whole experience even better. The breakfast was very nice, and there is a lovely pub atmosphere downstairs. Great value for money and a genuinely warm, family-run feel. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone visiting Spalding."
