"What lovely people! We loved our stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They were patient and kind as I tried speaking Spanish. Wonderful! Our room was spotless, the air conditioning was powerful and the room was clearly made to feel welcoming. The location is fantastic for seeing the older part of the city. Views around the corner are great. We had a really relaxing and delicious breakfast here, outside the hotel soaking up some of the Peñíscola atmosphere. Coffee was excellent! This is in the older part of the city… so there are city steps to climb, which may be a factor for people. This place is just lovely. We would book again and thank you so much to the incredibly helpful, smiling staff - your welcome made such a difference!"

"Apartment was as advertised. There were a few dog hairs on one of the beds. A couple notes that may be easy to miss so you aren't disappointed (these are all indicated in the listing, so no false advertising here): 1) There is no AC. It was fairly warm and humid while we were here, but being diligent about closing the sun shades in the morning and opening to cross-ventilation in the evening kept temperatures reasonable. Keep a fan on you for sleeping (and maybe a frozen water bottle). Pool was also very nice for cooling off.2) There is no WiFi. Alas, for us, cell service was also dodgy. 3) It's a solid hike up from town. Good exercise, though, and there's a nice trail into the mountains nearby. Again, hitting the pool after hiking up was a bonus.4) Wasn't entirely clear from the listing, but there is a dedicated parking space and lots of on-street parking.5) The refrigerator works well, but will ice up pretty rapidly in humid conditions. Be diligent about keeping the doors closed!All in all, we enjoyed our visit, and it was nice to have the space for six people!"

"The location is great, and the staff were very pleasant and the rooftop view was excellent. The only downside is that the rooms are very underwhelming but other than that, it is a great location. They advertise parking but when you arrive, they have a very limited number of spots and you end up having to park across the street for a very expensive price."

"The proprietress of the hotel was truly phenomenal. She was so helpful and friendly. We were grateful for her assistance in so many ways. The hotel is in a great location for exploring the medieval city of Peñíscola. It is cute and clean. And they have a wonderful restaurant. We had breakfast there all 4 mornings that we stayed. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. If you are considering a visit to Peñíscola, stay at the Hostal Dios Esta Bien!!"

"The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a nice variety of items. Location is excellent. Our room was small and had no outside view (our window opened to an inner shaft), but it was functional and sufficient for us."
