Sea Gate Hotel

"I truly cannot say enough good things about the Sea Gate Hotel. From Penny’s welcome upon our arrival and clear love for the island and its horses, to Kelly providing detailed instructions to help get to the island and the hotel, navigate car rental options, and going out of her way to help us troubleshoot any issues during any aspect of our stay, the service and hospitality are nothing short of perfect. (Kelly put us in touch with John for an affordable car option, but the rental golf carts will get you around the hills just fine too.) They offer laundry service for a fee that we took advantage of, as well as horseback tours at a reasonable additional cost. The nature and views from every suite are breathtaking, this is the perfect hotel for anyone who enjoys walking out their front door to see animals, fruit trees, and a full horse stable, beautifully maintained. The pool is small but perfect for a dip, especially after returning from a trip to the beach. The location is excellent, a manageable uphill walk from the “downtown” area and ferry and a 15-25 minute ride from any of the beaches on the south side of the island. Penny is happy to review the map to help you find your perfect beach, and took the time to do so immediately upon our arrival. I really can’t do how great our stay was justice, and cannot wait to be back on a future trip. I’ve recommended Sea Gate to family and friends already."

"Excellent location and great communication! It’s dimly lit up and down stairs at night but all in all it was a great location on the island and looking forward to visiting again. Being able to shower after beach and before getting on the ferry again was a huge bonus"

"Property was great and very clean. The kids especially enjoyed the pool. However, one thing that I overlooked when booking is that laundry facilities are not available for stays of less than 7 nights. That detail was buried in the description. Lots of towels were provided, but with a house this size and the number of guests that it accommodates using the pool and going to the beach, the towels were used up quickly with no way to wash them. We were only there 3 days, and we had towels, bathing suits, and wet clothes hanging everywhere!"

"Everything was perfect and as-described. Being able to hear the waves rolling onto the beach from the Bungalow was incredible, as was enjoying morning coffee right on the beach. The pool added to the enjoyment and was the perfect place to cool down after a long day exploring the island. The only suggestion would be to utilize an electronic locking system to avoid the need for the physical key and meeting with the Property Manager at arrival. We loved this trip and would definitely return to the same Bungalow again!"

"My family and I loved this home. The constant sound of the waves were so relaxing. The house has absolutely everything you need inside. The extra towels were a plus! The house is surrounded by nature and has so much open space that you feel like you are outside living in."

"We can't say enough good about this wonder place! Everything was five star. The hostess was very helpful and caring, giving great tips for all our activities. The home cooked breakfasts were a very nice touch. The property is extremely well designed for guest comfort. The location is very central to all the fun too. So, whether we were out enjoying the island or taking breaks in the heat, Vieques Biobay B&B made our stay truly epic. Thank you."
