About this property

Holiday, where Tuscany is still authentic. 16th c. Villa Infinity Pool: Cipresso

  • Villa with History and a Breathtaking Infinity Pool

Our holiday home Podere Palazzone – Toscana Autentica dates back to around the year 1600. It hosts four holiday apartments, each 55 m² in size, styled in the typical antique Tuscan country house design. The "Cipresso" apartment features a bathroom and two bedrooms – one with a double bed and another with two comfortable sofa beds (an extra bed can be provided upon request). The second bedroom also serves as a dining room with dining table and includes a fully equipped kitchenette for self-catering, with dishes, a refrigerator, and a microwave oven.

The entire rustico has been thoroughly renovated using reclaimed original materials. As a result, it still charms with its authentic vaulted ceilings made of traditional terracotta tiles in the apartment "Cipresso", with antique chestnut beams, a walk-in fireplace, and walls up to 1.5 meters thick, built from Tuscany’s characteristic beige sandstone. Many of these stones still bear visible fossils – remnants from a time when this area was still a seabed.

From the "Cipresso" apartment, guests step out onto their spacious, covered private terrace with a dining table. This leads directly into the large park-like garden with majestic holm oaks and a lawn – the perfect place to relax, sunbathe, or let children play. Here, they can enjoy the stunning sunsets Tuscany is famous for, before the distant lights of the Etruscan city of Volterra begin to twinkle and the sky unveils a spectacular display of stars. Early risers will be enchanted by the morning mist that gently wraps around the hilltops.

Just 15 steps from the apartment is the magnificent infinity pool, 12 x 6 m — a true homage to Tuscany. Overlooking the hills around Volterra, it acts like a picture frame, emphasizing the beauty of the classic Tuscan landscape. It harmoniously captures the region’s colors and shapes as if painted with a soft brush. Podere Palazzone is nestled among small vineyards, olive groves, woods, and pastures. We welcome you to an oasis of peace, yet one that lies close to all of Tuscany’s major attractions.

    In the Heart of Tuscany

Whether it’s the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral of Florence, or the enchanting Piazza del Campo in Siena — whether it’s the sea, natural thermal springs, or Etruscan archaeological sites — everything is within a maximum of 60 km as the crow flies. And the best part is: the journey itself is the charm of Tuscany. Discover the small hidden gems, the authentic villages you’ll fall in love with, and the rolling hills that reveal breathtaking panoramas around every bend.

The Mediterranean Sea welcomes you with sandy beaches and rocky coastlines stretching from Quercianella to Punta Ala (28–56 km), some of them proudly flying the “Bandiera Blu”. Popular activities include swimming in the summer — whether in the pool, river, or sea — as well as hiking through untouched Mediterranean scrubland, forests, and vineyards, along with biking and horseback riding. Just ask us — we’ll be happy to share tips off the beaten path.

    Dolce Vita

While you relax, don’t miss out on Tuscany’s culinary delights. We are happy to recommend local trattorias and wineries. Upon request, we offer a breakfast service at Podere Palazzone, and three times a week, we host themed culinary evenings focused on olive oil, Tuscan herbs, and Italian cuisine classics—atmospherically served at sunset under the pergola in front of the rustic house. For more lively experiences, we suggest visiting the many village festivals and medieval fairs—complete with flag throwers. Ask us, too, about lost places to explore, hidden caves, or attractions for children.

    Holiday in Harmony with Nature

Podere Palazzone – Toscana Autentica is also a small, family-run 3.5 ha organic farm with its own vegetable and herb garden. Don’t miss tasting our tomatoes—picked when perfectly ripe, red, juicy, aromatic, and with that earthy scent of grass and wet soil. As a true Tuscan farm, we also grow grapes and produce high-quality, hand-harvested organic extra virgin olive oil. Our eggs come from truly happy hens, who share the farm with our dogs, cats, and horses. Guests’ pets are also warmly welcome at no extra charge (within usual limits). Lastly, electricity, hot water, and heating are powered by the region’s natural geothermal energy sources.
