"while the weather was beyond anyone’s control, I had such a cozy stay and was perfect for the R&R that I needed. The grounds, the room and the entire property was so delightful though there were other guests. I don’t think I saw even one! It was truly so lovely in the rooms. I think everyone was cozied up by their fires during the rainy evenings. I really loved the grocery store, though the prices are a bit higher than in store, you’re paying for the convenience of all your necessities being right there and I thought that was really nice. Plus your room already comes with plenty of eggs, cheese and bacon for breakfast cereals, granola and yogurt as well as milk and juice so there’s not really much else to grab unless you are going to make a nice dinner. I truly loved all of the kitties, despite I’m allergic, they were adorable, kept to themselves, and we’re awfully cuddly when I was leaving (They are also vaccinated so there’s no worries.) on top of that there are chickens, ducks, and sheep on the property and I hope to come back when the weather is better to enjoy that beautiful pool, the vegetation, and the beautiful views! thank you again for such a wonderful stay and apologies again for setting off the fire alarm! 😂 i’ve got to get used to using those cast-iron stoves! "

"This property exceeded all our expectations! The house and outside space with negative edge pool were all beautiful. We loved being away from the crowded city and enjoying the peaceful beauty of Madeira. We arrived in the middle of the night. The 6 of us with luggage were driven comfortably by pre-arranged transport to the property about an hour away. We rented cars in nearby Calheta for the week the next day and dropped them at the airport when departing Madeira. Driving on the roads in Madeira is not for the faint hearted but we did fine. There was a very nice grocery store in Calheta to obtain groceries for the week. The kitchen was well outfitted for preparing meals together. We even did wood fired chicken on the grill in the outdoor kitchen. There are Levadas for hiking nearby, great Lighthouse views, close to Porto Moniz & Seixal, and the Fanal Forest. It was so nice to have a comfortable place to watch the sunsets. We had a great week and are so happy we chose this property. An Island Apart was exceptional to do business with!"

"Taking my 81yr old dad away I would have benefited from better photos as the property had more stairs than expected and outdoor steps were often uneven. His first and only go in the swimming pool was problematic and hit his confidence. The single bathroom and inability to flush paper in the toilet also presented inconveniences. The property was good but just not suited for our needs. "

"My family and I had a brief 4 day stay. At the end we wished we could have stayed for a whole week or more. Beautiful home. Tough to navigate the drive and the steep terrain, but that’s Madeira! We loved the clean pool and spectacular views. Nothing but chill."
