"Villa Amarres is a lovely property—beautifully decorated and really well equipped (especially the patio, living room and the kitchen, which had a great range of pans and utensils—rare in rentals!). We were incredibly fortunate with the weather, but even without this, this was a lovely location and space for a very restful family break. We stayed in the first week of April and quickly realised that very little is open in the evenings. This definitely needs to be clearer in the listing, as it really limited nearby dining options. The two restaurants advertised as a 5-minute walk were both closed and don’t open until mid-April. The pool loses the sun in the afternoon—sure this won’t be an issue in summer, but it meant we didn’t use it as much as we’d hoped.We had a hire car—there’s a Lidl in Mahon about 25 minutes away (NB even big supermarkets close by 9:30/10pm). Fornells is a nice, well-lit 20-minute walk with plenty of places open for lunch this time of year, but only 2–3 spots open in the evenings. La Franola in Platges de Fornells is definitely worth the walk for an evening meal and beautiful sunset views.Pros: location, views, and overall standard.Cons: second bathroom is downstairs, and hot water is limited/unreliable—we had to stagger when we had showers as a family of three, so this could be tricky at full occupancy. No cushions for the loungers, which makes them very uncomfortable. Overall, a great holiday in a lovely place - would definitely book again."

"We have just returned from a 10 night stay. We struggled to find the apartment initially. It is almost opposite the signs for La Franola tapas bar, which is in the complex across the road. Parking in the spaces opposite was never a problem, there is on road parking there, and further along below the pool too. The whole area is quite hilly, but very peaceful and picturesque. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away, we found it unusual not to be able to get a drink or the loo whilst there though. One nearby restaurant opens from 1pm ish. Nearby complex facilities are for residents only. The supermarket is in the same area. The apartment itself is very cosy, very clean, and with everything you need. The WiFi is fast. The outside terrace is lovely with a sea view. The skies at night can be beautiful. Michael the owner was very attentive and returned messages immediately (I messed up my vrbo account! which caused several issues). He does prefer you to translate them to German via an app or Google Translate. We would highly recommend staying. The only negatives for us were the pillows were flat & lumpy, and the kettle could do with replacing. "

"Lovely property in pretty Fornells. It was great waking up to the sea views and going for a pre breakfast walk to the tower where we were guaranteed great sightings of Blue Rockthrush. Eating out was a joy. There is so much to see and do locally we did not venture far.Three things i would mention.1. The steps up to the apartment are quite steep an could prove difficult to navigate for people who are not completely mobile.2. It should be better communicated that the key safe is at the top of the stairs shared by two apartments.3. A kettle would be a great improvement.We both enjoyed our stay at this well equipped apartment. "

"The space, the view and the location. It would be improved with a handrail on the stairs because looking down, the natural grain in the timber of each step blends into each other and you have to look very carefully as you take each step."

"We had a great stay at this apartment. The location was perfect, being walking distance to all the bars, restaurants and shops. Having explored the island, Fornells was definitely the best place to stay - it had easy access via car to both Ciutadella and Mahón, along with other points of interest. We had a broken kettle on day 2, which was resolved the very same day with easy communication via WhatsApp. Thank you. The only thing missing was some cleaning products so that we could keep the kitchen nice and clean (washing up liquid, surface cleaner), but we were only there for a week, so wasn’t a problem. "
