We had a great stay! Nancy was easy to communicate with and answered questions promptly. Nikki was great with on island support. The house was as advertised, comfortable, clean and all we could ever ask for! The kitchen was well appointed and we cooked our own meals almost exclusively. There were beach chairs, umbrellas and kayaks. Now for a quick island reality check. Cat island is not Nassau, Cancun or Miami. We have been there 4 times now. If you are looking for glitz, glam or fancy meals or even things like smooth roads and electricity that is for sure 24/7 then you may want to go someplace else. If you want land crab and hermit crab adventures, fishing, history, sunrises and sunsets and endless beaches to explore then jump in and go ASAP!
Our stay at the Kiki House was just what the doctor ordered. Pristine waters, peaceful and warm sunny days on our very own beach. No long lines of people to battle with. It was absolutely perfect. Everyone we ran into was so welcoming and helpful. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We hope to be back one day!
Everything about the trip was perfect. Had everything we needed in the house. Very isolated beach, very private. Nikki was excellent in helping get around and give suggestions on the stay. Cat Island is truly a special place, and the Kiki House was an excellent home base for experiencing the island.
We spent 7 days at the Kiki house and absolutely loved our stay! The home was perfect for me and my husband and our two teenage daughters. Plenty of space, and I really appreciated having a washer/dryer, so that we didn’t have to pack as much clothing. We spent time on back deck/patio every day… gorgeous view of the water! The location was fantastic. We love to snorkel and the fact that we had a pristine beach with incredible reefs only steps from our back door was amazing!! Things we saw in the water off our beach: nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays, a sea turtle, and hundreds upon hundreds of different types of fish. It was an incredible experience. ❤️
We were looking for a place to stay that was comfortable but far away from resorts and other people. That is exactly what we got! Nancy and her caretaker were both very responsive and helpful. For those new to Cat Island they both provide important and helpful context on how to prepare for the trip and what to expect- even including tips on getting there from Nassau. The setting is just so gorgeous and you have like a 100m of beach to yourself. I think in two weeks we saw three people. When we felt like some company we walked 100m to the Pink Chicken bar for some excellent fish and conch... and a few beers. The snorkelling off the beach was fantastic. So many fish including a very large and curious baracuda. The house itself is completely modern and has everything one could ask for. We will be back.
Cat Island and the Kiki House were exactly as we had imagined - remote, peaceful and simply beautiful. The house itself was well appointed with all of the amenities we needed, particularly WiFi as work and emails never take holidays! The beds were very comfortable and the porch was perfect for morning yoga, afternoon emails with a view and evening relaxation.
We recommend renting a car but also recommend negotiating the rates in advance. There is a bank on the island should you need extra cash, several grocery stores and a few charming bakeries and eateries. Da Pink Chicken is a waterfront eatery within a short walk of the house and serves home-cooked meals on the weekends.
The wind prohibited us from snorkeling or kayaking as much as we had hoped, but we did visit some calmer beaches on the island. Our only complaint is that we didn't stay a few days longer!
We flew Western Air with a connection in Nassau - our Western Air return flight to Nassau was delayed and we were concerned about missing our connection, but the pilot radioed our connection who informed the ticketing agent. They waited for us and let us make our connection comfortably - yet another example of the wonderful Bahamian hospitality at work!
Overall, if you're looking for a break from the hectic pace of life and to experience some remote island living, Cat Island is the place and the beautiful Kiki House gives the perfect amount of comfort to enjoy it.
The listing was exactly as advertised. Very private home and beach with soft firm sand. Nikki was extremely helpful during our stay. Our favorite times were sitting on the porch and beach with the ocean breeze reading books.
This property met all expectations! As advertised, it was located in an area away from most everything except the ocean, the beach, quiet and a sky full of stars! Communications with the host was excellent. Even better was the housekeeper (Nikki) meeting us at the airport and taking us to our rental car, grocery store and bakery. Nikki then led us to the house and explained all the important features. Cat Island is as laid back as you can get and the people are helpful, polite and friendly. All of this made for a wonderful and relaxing stay.
The Kiki house was amazing. The snorkeling right off the beach is world class, I couldn’t believe the variety of sea life that we saw! The house has everything you need and Nikki was great! Will definitely be back! Cheers!
The ideal location with a spectacular home on a private beach. Kiki house is maintained to a standard that is rare for any island home. The owner is a pleasure to deal with and adds a personal touch - we felt like family.
Cat Island is a throwback to an earlier time - truly the best of all worlds.
Great house. Great location. Fully equipped plus the owner and caretaker arranged that fresh fruit, vegetables, and fish were delivered to the house. We didn’t want for anything. The house is located on a very nice, private beach great snorkeling and fishing. We highly recommend this property and hope to return ourselves.
Wow! We so enjoyed this trip. It's the kind of trip we have been looking for, for years, very private, never saw anyone on the beach. We didn't rent a car, but biked into Aj's convenience store, and da pink chicken, plus Nikki is amazing, and took us on a tour of the island. Loved the relaxed trip so much. Would love to come back and bring our family. Thanks again for sharing!!
The house was just as described/shown. Beautiful, clean and well stocked. Nancy and Nikki were both great, very helpful and accommodating. Beach was peaceful and snorkeling was amazing! We cooked most nights and watched the amazing star show above the waves. Wondered over to the Pink Chicken a couple of times and delicious cracked conch, cold beers and fun conversation with Dean.
Our trip was wonderful and we can't wait to go back!
My wife and I enjoyed the privacy the rental offered. Only saw 1 kayaker the whole week.
House was more than we could have asked for. Clean, bright with sunshine and loved the master bed!
Nikki the house liason was so friendly and helped us with any needs we had during stay.
I would advise to bring your own snorkel or dive gear.
We will be back for sure!

Perfect and relaxing
The whole reason I picked this location is so that my husband could unwind and get away from all the stress he is under. It was the absolute best place I could have picked for him to do just that. This home far exceeded what I had hoped for. Beautiful view, private, and all the amenities you could ask for. We spent all of our time on the beach and not another soul in sight the entire week. Nikki, who takes care of the home, picked us up from the airport, took us on an island tour, cooked us a delicious Bahaman meal, and delivered us back to the airport, was the best! If you are looking for R&R with a spectacular view, this is your place!
The property was exactly as advertised. Located on a secluded beach with soft sand that never gets hot, beautiful water with every shade of blue, easy swimming and snorkeling just out front of the house, no neighbors, it was so quiet and the views are amazing. The layout of the house was perfect with three bedrooms and two baths. There were four in our party, so plenty of room. The porch is great, shade all day and amazing views, and did I mention how quiet it is!! Nancy was great to communicate with prior to the trip and answered all of our questions. Nikki met us at the airport, took us to get the rental cars, groceries and water, and then led us to the home and explained things well. We didn't need her the rest of the week, but she did check in multiple times via WhatsApp to make sure we were OK. Now, some realities of Cat Island. It is secluded, no big stores, no shopping for anything outside of the necessities for the week. Restaurants, or eating places sometimes have food, and sometimes they don't. Lunch pricing was most reasonable, so we ate out at lunch and fixed dinner at the house. Like it says, best to call ahead to see if they are open and serving food. Prices are high for any island in the Bahamas, just plan on it. There's only one main road that's paved, many others are dirt with large potholes. No issues getting around, but best to rent a CRV or something similar. All of those things were great for us, that's exactly what we wanted and none were a surprise. The only real downside of the week for us were the no-see-ums. If you haven't had experience with them, they are not pleasant. Bug spray did not work for us, and the bites did itch. We tried the suggestion from the Cat Island locals and used Baby Oil - it helped, but we mostly stayed in the house when it got calm around sunset and played games, puzzles, or watched a movie on Netflix. The power did go out twice, and cell service/wifi once during the week. Again, just a reality of the Bahamas. So, amazing experienced - thanks Bob and Nancy for sharing your home with us.
We can't say enough about how lovely this hime was--a true paradise--sunsets, perfect soft sandy beach, great snorkeling, sweeping views and EASY transitions from and to airport, grocery store. We've been to multiple islands in the Bahamas and this property and Cat Island exceeded expectations! Thanks to Nancy and Nikki!
